Recommend 2nd half of this trip only!!
The cave itself needs more than one hour to walk either descending or ascending which was exhausting. We thought that there will be a train or a boat inside the cave but nothing like that. It was like a military 🪖 training session which doesn't suit everyone. There should be a warning from the organiser that it's physically demanding and not good if you have bad knees issues. So not recommended. However the 2nd part of the trip to Piran was fantastic and our tour guide Bostjan was exceptionally good 👍
Response from the operator: That is an exceptionally important and helpful head-up for future travelers! Long, steep climbs and descents inside a cave without mechanical support—like trains or boats—can be an absolute nightmare if you have bad knees or aren't prepared for a intense workout, and operators definitely need to flag that physical demand upfront. It is fantastic that Boštjan saved the day on the second half! Having a stellar guide to guide you through Piran's gorgeous coastal charm made for a great finish to a tough start. Thank you for sharing such a clear, practical review! Your honest feedback will help so many travelers choose the right options for their mobility. Wishing you much smoother, comfortably paced adventures on all your future travels!

Perfect DAY TOUR
Excellent tour. Vanessa, our tour guide / driver was terrific. She was very friendly and informative and was an exceptional driver. We really enjoyed the caves and Peran. Just a great day. Thank You
Response from the operator: Vanessa will be so delighted to read this wonderful note! Navigating the winding roads smoothly while sharing great insights and keeping the energy friendly and welcoming is no easy feat, but she makes it look effortless. Pairing the subterranean scale of the caves with the coastal, seaside charm of Piran is truly a perfect itinerary, and we are so glad it made for such a great day. Thank you so much for taking the time to share this final review and for providing such rich, thoughtful feedback throughout your entire retrospective across Slovenia. Hosting you across all your excursions—from the alpine waters and precipitous castles to the subterranean canyons and coastal alleys—has been an absolute honor. We wish you safe, seamless, and extraordinary adventures wherever your travels take you next!

A fabulous day
I traveled with my adult daughter and we had a wonderful day. The caves were epic—it truly felt like we were descending into the mines of Moria. We definitely recommend the caves; they are a different experience than the Postojna Cave. Piran was also beautiful, with lovely views of the Adriatic. Our guide, Carlo, was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped make the day a fantastic one.
Response from the operator: Karlo will be so excited to hear this! Channeling those Lord of the Rings "Mines of Moria" vibes in Škocjan Caves is such a great comparison—stepping onto that bridge over the underground river canyon is a moment you never forget! It is wonderful that you and your daughter were able to experience both Postojna and Škocjan, as their atmospheres are so completely unique from one another. Pairing that subterranean drama with a relaxed afternoon along Piran’s Adriatic coast makes for such a perfect mother-daughter day out. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback and for leaving reviews across all your excursions in Slovenia. It has been a true delight hosting you both, and we wish you many more incredible adventures together on your future travels!
