Great first experience horse riding.
I have always wanted to go horse riding but had never had the opportunity to or the confidence to. I met Lesley in Luxor and she convinced me to come and give it a go. I visited her stables and got to meet all her animals, which are very well cared for. I was feeling quite nervous but Lesely put me at ease and we set off. The area around her stables is beautiful and we got to pass through some of the local villages. You can see that Lesley is great with her horses and has a very strong bond with them. My first horse ride was great fun and I would recommend it to beginners and experienced riders.

Excellent day at Blue Lotus Stables & Farm
Stable owner Lesley Hammam sent a boat to the East Bank to pick us up & transport us to the West Bank where she met us. We traveled in her SUV to Blue Lotus Stables & Farm. She introduced us to many friendly cows, goats & horses & cats. We had tea & chatted about her stables & life in Egypt. Lesley got the horses groomed & saddled up. 2 of us were going riding with her. Her husband arrived & stayed at the farm & visited with my husband & a friend. My husband loved learning so much from Saffy about their lives in Egypt & their lovely stables. Lesley took me & another woman on a wonderful long horseback ride through rural farm country, past many small homes with children playing & women preparing sun bread. It was delightful. The horses were excellent & calm. Lesley is most enjoyable to ride & visit with. It was one of the best days during my month stay in Egypt.

Unique desert ride on beautiful horse!
I had an amazing experience riding around the Luxor West Bank area and desert with Lesley. Her farm is a lovely place to visit with many cute animals to cuddle as well! Her horses are all incredibly well looked after and fun to ride. This activity is one of my highlights during my stay in Luxor and I would highly recommend riding or visiting Blue Lotus Farm if you have the chance !

Amazing horses, people, and places.
I have been horse riding with Lesley many times in different locations. Each time is a great adventure! If you want to see the old villages of Luxor or the sands of the desert (or both!), Lesley has the perfect adventure for you! She absolutely loves her horses, and takes great care of them! She is a great instructor and friend! When I lived in Luxor, she always helped me with my animals when I needed it. I can't say this about many people, but she is fearless and when she wants to do something, she does it. So, regardless of what type of adventure you want, you must have Lesley by your side~. She will motivate you and take care of you ! She truly goes above and beyond!
Response from the operator: I had just as much fun! you did amazing and I hope you will continue your riding journey L x

Rural Luxor by Horse!!!!!!
I went riding with Lesley twice during my last trip to Luxor and would have gone more if I hadn’t left it till the last week of my visit. Lesley clearly prioritises the welfare of all her animal which is not the usual situation in Luxor at all. Her horses are, essentially rescues, and very much loved and cared for. She is an expert rider and qualified professional teacher. I am not an experienced rider and my horse was steady and reliable. Safety equipment was all provided as was transportation to the stables. Lesley’s teaching technique is very subtle. She does not bombard you with too much information but teaches one thing at a time with a steady pace so it is not overwhelming. I have ridden in Egypt before and have universally ended up with a young man guiding me who is more interested in making me his latest foreign `girlfriend` than making sure I enjoy the trip (this is not vanity but an ongoing problem for women in Luxor). With Lesley I was able to drop my guard and enjoy the scenery and conversation without looking for ulterior motives. We rode through the farmland around Lesley’s farm (a wonderful place if you love animals) on both trips, giving a much more authentic view of Egypt. Will be taking more lessons when I am back in Luxor. Thanks Lesley!
Response from the operator: Your welcome and I can't wait for you to come back so we can continue the adventures! L x

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rural Horse Riding Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Luxor.
How much does Rural Horse Riding Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Luxor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rural Horse Riding Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Luxor is not rushed.
Is Rural Horse Riding Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Luxor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rural Horse Riding Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rural Horse Riding Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 7. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Rural Horse Riding Adventure?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Luxor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Luxor and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rural Horse Riding Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Luxor within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Luxor?
+
On Outty we rank every Luxor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Tour of Luxor West Bank Temples and Tombs (Private), Luxury Sunrise Balloon Ride in Luxor with Hotel Pickup, Luxor Day Tour: Valley of Kings & Queens & Hatchepsut Temples. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Luxor?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Luxor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
