    Sunset Steam Train Ride

We boarded this Steam Train not knowing what to expect. Truly surprised by the beauty and historical features in each of the cars. Our presenters provided a wonderful story about how the train system came to be in Africa, full of interesting facts, answering all our questions! Our social hour allowed us to mingle and talk with others from so many countries. The dinner service was exceptional only to match the view as we were parked on the bridge. Wonderful time spent. We were very pleased with this experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the experience, the history, and the dinner on the bridge. Your kind words mean a lot to our team, and we hope to welcome you aboard again soon!

Don’t bother all they want is your money

We booked this months ago through get your guide, who offered us to book and pay later, literally as I booked I got a telephone call from a lady in Zimbabwe saying that I had to pay now and in full. Because of all the scams in the U.K. at the moment and especially from Africa, I really thought it was strange and dubious, and no way was going to give my card for six people, it was about £1600+ and she would have my credit card details as well, something you just don’t do. Unfortunately two of our party had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances a couple of weeks before we’re due to pay, so we paid for four and got all our tickets through. The night before I got a call from the same women who told us they only had three seats left, I asked her to hold those as I thought we could add a seat on somewhere, or we had done it before and our friend’s could still go, by the morning they cancelled us completely off, making excuses that someone else had booked, in fairness get your guide should have said if you don’t pay in full at the time of booking you may have a chance of losing your booking, which we could have done at the time, or she could at least have contacted them so they could have got in touch with us to pay. This is not a cheap trip and we were treated so badly, all they want is guaranteed money coming in, we booked another trip for a tenth of the price and had great fun, my advice is don’t bother your just cash cows to them.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience and any confusion caused during the booking process. We understand your concerns and will work with our partners to ensure clearer communication in the future. Our goal is never to cause frustration but to provide the best possible service, and we regret that we fell short in this instance. We appreciate your comments and hope you still enjoyed your time in the region. Kind regards, The Cherish Travel Team

Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Livingstone.

How much does Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train cost?

    +

Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Livingstone usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Livingstone is not rushed.

Is Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Livingstone, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Livingstone can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Livingstone and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Royal Livingstone Dinner Express Train start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Livingstone within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Livingstone?

    +

On Outty we rank every Livingstone experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Game Drive & Rhino Safari Exp - up to 3 hrs long - MIN 2 PEOPLE, Raft the Zambezi, Zambezi Whitewater Rafting — Full Day All 25 Rapids : Livingstone. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Livingstone?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Livingstone?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
