Trip of a lifetime time!

Kookaburra airplane company went above & beyond to make our dreams come true. Besides being sort staff due to Christmas holiday Darrel and his team still made our trip to Rottnest Island become a reality! Visiting from Texas I had no idea the ferry’s would be fully booked to visit the island, but when I did I pivoted and made reservations with this company. Come to find out there was a scheduling conflict & they were fully committed. Darrel pulled some strings & made it happen for his to have a truly once in a lifetime experience on Rottnest Island. Also, not a bad what to see the beautiful oceans and island from a plane. Don’t hesitate on making your trip to Rottnest Island with Koobaburra Air! You won’t regret it!!

Response from the operator: Thanks for expressing your appreciation for efforts made and empty legs flown to make it happen for you. A shame to have come all the way from the US and not experience Rottnest. As luck would have it you discovered the best way to see Rottnest. Sometimes things just work out for the Best. Best for 2026 Thanks Darrel

Amazing day! Would recommend and will be back!

Jack and Sean were brilliant pilots that were very friendly and open. They took photos for us our questions and made sure we were ok the whole time

Response from the operator: Tanks for your review. Our tours are special to us and your feed back help in making it special for all our future patrons. Yes the pilots we have doing the tours are great too and your praise for them goes a long way in maintaining that.. The reward for us all here at Kookaburra is the joy we bring to our customers. Thanks Darrel

Amazing trip! Would highly recommend!

The team were great and we felt very safe in the plane - they really looked after us and pointed out all the best bits we might have missed. The views themselves were well worth it! Definitely a trip you’d never forget and perfect for a special occasion.

Amazing Experience.

Me and my partner are both from Melbourne and It was his birthday so I booked a surprise holiday to Perth and a surprise flight through these guys and everything ran smooth. We arrived early and our pilot basically said no dramas let’s go! We got through some demonstrations and then we were on our way. jack our pilots who was lovely, asked us a few questions to get a feel of what we were like with our nerves he gave us a thrilling take off and we made our way over the suburban area then across the city and over the ocean to go all around Rottnest island. It was an incredible experience and so much fun. You don’t get this kind of tourism by walking. Thankyou so much guys for a wonderful experience that we’ll never forget! Lookin towards more trips with you in the future. :)

Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Perth.

How much does Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover cost?

+

Prices start at $400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Perth usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Perth is not rushed.

Is Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Perth, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Perth can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Perth and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rottnest Island Scenic Flight or 1/2 Day stopover start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Perth within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Perth?

+

On Outty we rank every Perth experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Optus Stadium Tour, Pinnacles Desert Sunset Dinner and Stargazing Tour, VIP Swan Valley Wine Tour - Premium Small Group Wine & Gourmet Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Perth?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Perth?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
