What you get

    About this experience

Explore the fascinating legend that surrounds Rose Hall Great House known for its horror stories about the infamous Annie Palmer. This mysterious tail has taunted the minds of locals and visitors alike for generations since the 17th century. Annie Palmer called the “White Witch” because of her countless lovers and allegedly poisoned her three husbands. A vengeful slave supposedly smothered her with a pillow in her bed in the 1830s. Then take a boat tour on the Luminous Lagoon and see the harmless microscopic organisms that give the water it’s the nacreous blue-green look. The water luminescence is triggered by dinoflagellates, oceanic plankton which is able to generate an emerald green and ultramarine illumination when water is physically disturbed. So, if you’re feeling adventurous, take a swim in the glowing water, one of only a few like it in the world! Don’t worry the lagoon’s eerie-looking water is actually completely harmless.

    Amazing tour

This tour was an amazing experience! Our tour guide Andrae went above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure we had the best possible time. He truly made it an unforgettable experience and was so kind and personable! Definitely the best tour guide in Jamaica! The luminous lagoon was beautiful, and it was so interesting to learn the history of the Rose Hall. This tour was a highlight of our trip! I highly recommend booking a tour with them!

    A must see!

The tour was great. Andrae is THE BEST tour guide in Jamaica! We were late for our first excursion (Rose Hall) and he not only waited for us but then took us back the next day for the part of the tour that we missed. He was super informative and showed us different parts of the island and told us all about the history wherever we went. We had a great time and recommend him to anyone who wants an unforgettable Jamaica experience. The luminous lagoon was amazing, did not disappoint but hard to get a photo on a phone.

Google-Dre Guide MADE our whole "adventure" the best time we've had in Jamaica!!!!

The tours were awesome, but what REALLY made it special was our guide, "Google-Dre" (We nicknamed him this b/c if he didn't know an answer to our question, he had his fingers ready to GOOGLE!). Rose Hall was soooo cool -- the story about the "lady of the house" is crazy...and the portrait of her is very creepy....so fun!!!! The luminous lagoon is stunningly beautiful! We are so excited that we get to be with Google-Dre tomorrow for YS Falls, Black River Falls and The Pelican Bar!

Response from the operator: Hi Wendy! Thank you and bob for making my day 😀 I laughed so hard reading the first sentence (Google Dre) my new nickname😁 for learning from Google onces 😀 thank you guys for leaving this awesome review I'm happy I was able to make this a memorable experience for you 🇯🇲 the support was amazing and I definitely looking forward on seeing you guys again 🇯🇲😀 #OneLove

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montego Bay.

How much does Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ] cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Montego Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ] take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Montego Bay is not rushed.

Is Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ] worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montego Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ]?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ] suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ]?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montego Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montego Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon Night [Transportation only ] start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montego Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Montego Bay?

    +

On Outty we rank every Montego Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Montego Bay Airport Transfer to Negril, Blue Hole and Dunn's River Falls Private Tour from Montego Bay, Appleton Estate Admission Ticket & Distillery Tour with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Montego Bay?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Montego Bay?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
