Excellent paella cooking class & dining experience

Such a pleasant experience! Hosts were wonderful & expertly explained selection of foods & processes for making Paella. Each guest was fully involved in preparing the sangria, gazpacho & paella. Even novices were made to feel confident in their preparations! Rooftop view & dining was beautiful & comfortable. Although we were the oldest among the group members, all were congenial & had a fine dining experience. Highly recommend this experience.

Can't wait to make Paella when we get home!

Absolutely perfect! Alfonso was waiting for us outside and showed us up to his welcoming home. We were immediately served champagne and were given aprons to start our process. He had all ingredients prepped and ready, but explained what each was and also the importance of great ingredients. After we chopped and sliced, we headed up to his rooftop overlooking the bay and watched as he explained each step in the paella-making process. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience from front to back, and even fell in love with his dog and parrot. <3 Thank you to Alfonso and Txema for being so gracious and welcoming us into their home -- as well as teaching us a bit about their city and cuisine. 10/10 would do again.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your absolutely wonderful review! We're thrilled that you enjoyed every part of the experience, from the warm welcome and champagne to preparing the ingredients and learning the secrets of paella on the rooftop overlooking the bay. It's lovely to hear that Alfonso and Txema made you feel so at home—and that their dog and parrot stole your hearts too! Thank you for the 10/10 recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Barcelona again someday!

BOOK IT! You will not regret it.

Our family absolutely loved this paella cooking class in Barcelona. Getting up to the apartment was incredibly easy—even with a stroller—thanks to the elevator, which made arriving stress‑free. The space itself was beautiful, with gorgeous views from both the rooftop and the apartment that made the experience feel extra special. We were also greeted in the apartment with glasses of champagne. The hosts were warm, welcoming, and truly accommodating. Their friendly dog and African grey parrot added such a fun touch; the dog was one of the most relaxed pups I’ve ever met, even with my toddler gently patting him. They were considerate and kept the dog in a separate room for most of the class, but still made sure we got to enjoy his sweet personality. At one point, they even pushed my toddler on their egg‑chair swing so I could sit down and eat—such a thoughtful gesture. The cooking instructions were clear and easy to follow, and we loved that they emailed recipes for everything within 24 hours. You can tell they genuinely love hosting; the whole experience felt like spending time with old friends. The class was relaxing, fun, and everything we made was SO DELICIOUS. We would highly recommend booking this experience—it’s absolutely worth it.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your absolutely wonderful review! We're thrilled that your whole family enjoyed the paella class and felt so welcome from the moment you arrived. It's lovely to hear that the beautiful views, champagne, warm hospitality, and thoughtful touches made the experience so special for your family. We're especially happy that the class was relaxing and easy to follow, and that you enjoyed all the delicious food. We hope the recipes help you recreate some of those Barcelona memories at home!

Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria cost?

    +

Prices start at $82 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 99 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria?

    +

Around 35 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rooftop Paella Cooking Class Experience in Barcelona with Sangria start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

    +

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

    +

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
