About this experience
Experience the best of Rome’s street food culture in a completely vegan-friendly way on this unique tour, originally designed by the roman actress Arianna Bonardi, and longtime advocate for animal rights. This tour is designed to help vegans and plant-based travelers navigate the Eternal City with ease, discovering where to eat, what to order, and how to enjoy Roman cuisine. Your journey begins with one of the most beloved Roman street foods: supplì. This deep-fried rice ball transformed into a delicious 100% plant-based version. Next, you’ll explore the historic Jewish Quarter, home to one of Rome’s most famous dishes: carciofo alla giudia. This crispy, golden-fried artichoke has been a staple of Roman-Jewish cuisine for centuries. "Pizza means happiness" and this tour takes you to enjoy a slice of authentic Roman-style pizza. The tour concludes with a stop at a top artisanal gelateria, where All food served is vegan, in respect of the tour’s concept and guests’ choice.

Arianna made this the best food tour we've ever taken, vegan or otherwise
We had actually stopped booking food tours in general; they tend to pack in far too much food in far too short a time and we always ended up overstuffed and rushed. Arianna's tour changed our minds entirely. The pace was unhurried, the walking was just enough to feel like an adventure without being tiring and the portions were exactly right. We left satisfied, not stuffed. We booked expecting a straightforward vegan street food tour and she delivered on that completely, but gave us far more than the description promised. She led us to hidden ruins that we never would have found on our own and wove in real history, particularly about Rome's Jewish community and how their traditional food evolved the way it did. That context gave the food an added dimension. At one point she pointed us toward a cat sanctuary tucked nearby and we returned afterward on our own to spend more time there. Her English was excellent and she was engaging, warm and quick-witted throughout. In many years of private touring, Arianna ranks among the very best guides we've had. We left feeling we'd made a friend rather than simply finished a tour.

Don’t miss it, informative and yummy!
Amazing experience. Ariana was charming and informative. We had lots of great food on the tour and plenty of information on how to navigate Roman menus. A little bit of history thrown in and stories about her life. Would absolutely recommend to anyone, not just vegans. 🌱💚

Delicious food and wonderful company
Arianna was a wonderful tour guide - very passionate about the city and the food. I was a little nervous as a solo traveller but she did an amazing job of introducing me to the group so I felt at ease and chatting away immediately. The food was fantastic and it was a wonderful introduction to the city! I would recommend it early in your trip as you’ll want to go back to all the places again and try her other wonderful recommendations! Would 100% recommend to any vegans or vegan-curious visitors to Rome!

Learn the delicious vegan secrets of Rome!
Our tour guide Arianna was incredibly friendly and personable, and made a real effort to get to know myself and my partner. She was incredibly passionate about veganism and very knowledgeable about which restaurants had naturally and modified vegan food. We ate so much much delicious food from several different restaurants, while learning about the unique aspects of Roman cuisine. We had everything from appetizers, main courses to deserts. Vegan Suppli are so tasty!! If you’re a vegan traveling to the eternal city this tour is a must
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled that Arianna made your tour enjoyable and informative, and that you loved exploring vegan Roman cuisine. It’s great to hear you had such a memorable experience!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rome Vegan Street Food Tour Traditional Tastings with Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
