Our best experience in Rome!

We did the Appian Way and ancient food tasting tour with Valerio. We also did the Rome in 3 hours tour with Edwardo. They were both so knowledgeable, kind, and accommodating. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I will recommend this tour company to everyone, and I would definitely use this company again!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this incredible review and your glowing recommendation! We are absolutely over the moon to hear that you had such a wonderful experience on both your Appian Way and Ancient Food Tasting tour with Valerio, and your Rome in 3 Hours tour with Eduardo.

Incredible and all encompassing tour!

Valerio was an exceptional tour guide! Such knowledge and a great personality! The more he told you the more you wanted to know! The food portion of the tour was so interesting and the fact that this is a family owned and operated business just makes it all the better!! If you’re looking for a GREAT way to see the city, old and new, you will not go wrong booking with Rome in Golf Cart!

Incredible Experience

THIS!!! We LOVED the experience! Valerio was so friendly, engaging and extremely knowledgeable! He picked us up at our hotel. It was chilly, but he had the coziest, plush blankets for us. I was with my sister, and 3 wonderful friends (2 were married). Valerio was a wealth of knowledge. I have been to Rome multiple times, and he took us places and shared history I had not heard before. The culinary experience was exquisite! The research and understanding of these ancient foods was incredible! The chef who prepares the food has studied and researched to bring us as authentic as possible dishes. AMAZING & DELICIOUS! Don’t think twice!! Make your reservation!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the glowing review! We are absolutely thrilled that you and your group had such a memorable time with Valerio. We are especially proud of our culinary partnerships. Our chef puts immense heart into researching and reviving authentic, ancient recipes, and hearing that the dishes were 'amazing and delicious' means the world to us. We will certainly share your high praise with both Valerio and our culinary team.

A Special Day on the Appian Way

We have been to Rome many times. And this was of the most memorable experiences of all our trips. Exploring the Appian Way by golf cart was such a relaxed, beautiful way to take it all in. Valero, our driver, was wonderful — warm, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate. His dad, Evano, met us on the Appian Way, which made it feel personal from the very start. You could truly feel their love for Rome throughout. The ancient culinary experience was especially unique. We had a beautiful picnic lunch on the trail, and the chef put real care into recreating dishes from ancient Rome. Everything was delicious — especially the spiced wine (my favorite part). It felt less like a tour and more like being welcomed in and thoughtfully shown around. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a beautiful review. To hear that this was one of your most memorable experiences—even after many visits to Rome—is the highest praise we could hope for. We are so glad you felt that personal connection. Valerio and Ivano truly care about sharing the soul of 'their city,' and having the whole family involved is what makes the Appian Way feel like home to our guests.

Don’t miss this one! Truly amazing!

Valerio and his father treated us like family. He was knowledgeable and very happy to answer many questions. The food and history left us with full hearts and bellies. We were gifted with a lovely bottle of homemade wine. It was our best Roman experience yet!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a beautiful review. To hear that this was one of your most memorable experiences—even after many visits to Rome—is the highest praise we could hope for. We wanted it to feel less like a tour and more like a warm welcome, and we are thrilled that is exactly how it felt for you. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next Roman holiday!"

Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart cost?

+

Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rome: Ride Like Caesar, Eat Like a Gladiator in a Golf Cart start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
