Great way to go to airport from city center hotel

Excellent communication and prompt! Picked us up right in front of hotel. Texted the night before and when he was 10 minutes away.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the kind words, Wendy. Keeping travellers informed — a message the evening before and again when the driver is close — is something we ask of every driver, so it's good to hear it landed exactly as intended. We'll pass your thanks on to him. Safe travels, and we hope to see you back in Rome.

Got us there ... not a first class experience

He was on time and greeted us, but not really the first class experience I expected He was in a hurry from the beginning and we practically had to run to keep up on the long trot to our car.. No conversation at all. We were not offered water. And it was hot. It was nice to have someone waiting for us and not have to navigate, but this was basically an expensive taxi ride. All Rome traffic is harrowing, so I won't say he was that much worse, but we took a breath of relief upon arrival at the hotel. Not what I expected.

Response from the operator: Hi Darlene, We are sorry that you had to undergo this experience. We totally understand that these little gestures can be disappointing. Be assured that we will take action and ensure we improve our services. Thank you for pointing this out, and for choosing our services. We hope to serve again soon. We take great care in assessing, analyzing and only then responding to your feedback; this requires time. Thank you for understanding.

    Rome to FCO transportation

Getting to the airport from Rome can be an unsettling trip, with both pedestrian and vehicular traffic factoring in on the time it takes to arrive at FCO. We booked a airport shuttle through Viator and could not be more pleased. Our driver, Francesco, texted us, alerting us of his impending arrival and again when he arrived at our hotel. Transportation was in an excellent, clean and comfortable vehicle "captained" by a driver than knew every shortcut and traffic avoidance route through Rome delivering us to the airport seamlessly and on time. There's no better way to insure a timely and safe arrival at Rome's airport than through Viator! Highly Recommend!

Response from the operator: Hello Thomas, Thank you so much for your kind review. Our team will be very happy to read through your appreciation. This sure does motivate us to keep our standards high! Hope to travel with you soon!

    Scam! Beware!!

I confirmed by text in my TripAdvisor app multiple times over a six month period. I confirmed my flight number, my time of arrival, and my destination. The day of arrival they contacted me while I was still in Paris, awaiting my flight to Rome. They were confused why I wasn’t there already. They told me not to worry; they would have somebody there at the corrected (original) time. The person who picked us up took us five minutes from the airport and tried to drop us off ina shady looking part of town. Our actual destination was 50 minutes from the airport at a Marriott hotel. He showed us the bogus information he had been given and told us we’d have to pay another $97 euro. We had already paid $128 USD - for what he thought was a five minute ride!! At first he wanted us to get out or pay more, but we refused until he took us back to the airport. We had to request our money back via the TripAdvisor app. They say they will refund, but we haven’t seen a refund yet. My sister had a no -show at the same airport on the very same day from the very same vendor. She arrived two hours before we arrived. . I believe these guys are scam artists.

    Love Roma!

Our driver, Gabriel, was fabulous! He was right on time, dressed very nicely with a beautiful black Mercedes van to take us to FCO airport! He even gave us a Roma tour as we drove, which was special! We will miss Italy, but will come back again - and will defntiley be calling Viator to assist with our travels!

Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel cost?

    +

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rome Private Transfer: FCO/CIA Airport to/from Hotel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

    +

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pizza & Gelato Class with Wine by Cooking Italy, Rome [4in1] Pasta Making_Tiramisù_Wine Tasting_Secret Cellar, Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

    +

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
