    Alessandro and his wife...

Alessandro and his wife took our photos and they were absolutely amazing. We had a large group of 10 with 2 young children. They took their time and did individuals, small family and then obviously the large group. They made it easy, fun and personable.

Response from the operator: What wonderful photos! We're so glad Alessandro and his wife made your large group shoot of 10, including the little ones, so easy, fun, and personable. It means a lot to hear they captured everything from individuals to the whole family beautifully. We'll make sure to pass your kind words on to them! The Smiler Team

Unforgettable Proposal in Italy Thanks to Mohamed

There is top notch service and then there is Mohamed… my now fiancé and I were traveling to Italy for a vacation, but little did she know I was planning to propose to her during our trip. I searched all over the internet to find a photographer that could make this special day a surprise for her and after weeks of looking with no avail, I came across Mohamed. I first reached out to Viator to see if I could speak with the photographer prior to the shoot, as I have never been to Italy and wasn’t familiar with the best location. The key to this day was the element of surprise, therefore I needed to be in contact with him weeks prior to the date and the morning of. Mohamed was incredible from the first text message, honestly almost as excited as I was that we were planning this surprise together. He recommended at least 5 different locations that we could shoot at and gave me very detailed instructions on where to go and at what times. Now the tricky part was keeping this a secret from my fiancé… how am I supposed to meet up with a photographer and her not be suspicious immediately?? Mohamed and I came up with an amazing plan… we would “randomly bump into each other” at high traffic tourist location near the spot that I was planning to propose at, then he would “persuade” us to take “free pictures for a photography class he is currently taking” and that more pictures would be available to purchase after the shoot. The day came and you would have thought that Mohamed had taken acting classes his entire life! We acted like we had never met before, convinced my fiancé to take a few pictures at the crowded tourist spot, then he told us he had a better location in mind. I had the ring in a bag and without my fiancé noticing, he helped me sneak the ring into my pocket. We had established a plan for when the big moment came and he NAILED the pictures. On top of that, he was quick on his feet and didn’t even hesitate to take out his personal phone and also record the entire proposal on video AS WELL AS incredible pictures. To say that Mohamed is a professional would be an understatement. If I could go back and do it all over again, I would without a doubt in my mind make Mohamed my first call. After the stressful part was done (phew!) he walked us around the city taking hundreds of candid pictures along the way. We stopped a few times to get some other shots and we were BLOWN away by the results. The pictures were returned to us in less than 48 hours and we even purchased the extra pictures, because they were so amazing. I would say you are making a massive mistake if you do not hire Mohamed to be your private photographer. We are currently still talking with him and seeing if there is any way possible he can come be the photographer at our wedding in the United States as well.

    Great couple photos

Had a great photo shoot with Felice. Due to some construction work we adjusted the plan and Felice did an incredible job getting the photos. The sunset wasn't as great as we would have liked, but my wife and I loved our photos. Would recommend if you have the time and will book again when we return next year.

Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo cost?

    +

Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo take?

    +

Plan for about 0.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 0.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rome: Private Photoshoot at Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

    +

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

    +

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
