Excellent experience
Allesandro was a perfect guide, exceeded our expectations. Knew the “ hot spots” without the tourists, was a great experience. Allesandro is very personable, knowledgeable and extremely helpful with suggestions from photos, to additional tours, do’s and don’ts of Rome, and food choices. Worth every penny, highly recommend.
Response from the operator: From perfect photo spots to insightful tips about Rome, it sounds like Allesandro truly made your tour unforgettable. Your high recommendation means a lot to us, and we’re delighted that you felt it was worth every penny.

Unfortunately, our...
Unfortunately, our experience with Claudia as our tour guide was not as expected. She arrived an hour late, having forgotten our scheduled meeting time. Communication was challenging due to language barriers, and simple requests, such as taking photos, were not understood. Additionally, we were concerned about her well-being as she appeared unsteady and frequently bumped into our baby's pram and passersby. We were also uncomfortable with her smoking close to our baby. We hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for other guests.
Response from the operator: Hi Gift and Giselle, I understand the frustration of having a host who didn't meet your expectations, especially when it comes to language barriers, lateness, and smoking near your child - something we were very concerned about. After a thorough investigation, we have decided to deactivate his host. Your feedback means a lot to us as we are diligently improving our procedures and host qualifications to prevent similar incidents in the future. We'd be grateful for another chance to create a memorable experience that exceeds your expectations. Warm regards, Ruslan and the City Unscripted Team.

Great Quick Layover Tour!! ❤️🛬
I had a wonderful time in Rome, my tour guide was Tugce she was phenomenal and showed me so much in a short time. I had a layover in Rome and wanted to see as much as I could. I will definitely be back so I can really enjoy the culture more, but the cafe we ate at to the history sights, I definitely want to learn more about Rome. Thank you for being so kind and taking photos of me that I wanted, looking forward to the next time I come and visit 😊
Response from the operator: I'm thrilled to hear you had a wonderful time in Rome with our guide Tugce! It's fantastic that she could make your short layover so memorable. We're excited to welcome you back for a more immersive experience in Rome's rich culture. Thank you for your kind words, and we look forward to your next visit!

Rome - Guided tours
In three couples of friends we were in Rome from 8 to 13 May. To visit the most important places, after careful research, we turned to the tour operator Storiaviva Viaggi and booked 2 private guided tours: the first to the Vatican Museums, Raphael's rooms and the Sistine Chapel and the second to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Imperial Forums. On both visits our guide was Mrs. Marta. They were two really nice experiences. Marta allowed us to understand and deepen many aspects and peculiarities related to the treasures we visited. The Vatican Museums are particularly crowded but being a small group with a great guide we were able to appreciate the wonders we visited. Experience that I recommend both as a tour operator, who prefers to manage visits with small groups, and as a guide because Marta is really good and prepared.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rome Private Intro Tour: Custom & Flexible with a Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
