worst tour ever
This is only a tour wthat takes you to visit the passetto with no explanation whatsoever - not one word. There is so much to be said about the passetto that taking this tour without any explanation is a waste . I do not recommend it. You dont even get an audio guide.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify that the product you purchased is an **entry/skip-the-line product and not a guided tour**, so explanations by a guide or an audio guide are not included in this specific option. We do also offer a **guided tour of the Passetto di Borgo**, which includes explanations during the visit. At present, this option is available **on Saturdays at 11:45 AM**. We are sorry if the distinction between the two options was not clear enough when you booked, and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us make this information even clearer for future guests. Kind regards, **Gyash Tours**

Passetto Di Borgo
Visiting the Passetto Di Borgo was an excellent experience while visiting Castel San’Angelo. Highly recommend adding this option as the regular access to the Castel does not include it. It was a bit rushed and I would have liked to have a bit more time on the Passetto. When we arrived it was not clear where to go for the Passetto portion of the tour. We were waiting in the main line when we were supposed to be in a different line.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed visiting the Passetto di Borgo and found it to be a worthwhile addition to your Castel Sant’Angelo experience. We truly appreciate your feedback regarding the limited time on the Passetto and the confusion about where to meet at the beginning of the tour. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this caused, and we’ll certainly take your comments into consideration as we work to make the experience smoother and more enjoyable for our guests. Thank you again for your recommendation and valuable feedback. We hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Rome! 🇮🇹

We’ve been to Rome several times but never toured the Castel. We now consider this a must do tour!
I was a little taken aback to find that, upon picking up our tickets, we were then instructed to make our way to the entrance to the Castel, about a 10 to 15 minute walk. Then had to ask around to work out how and where our tour would start. However, the content of the tour meant I am still rating this as 5 star. We were escorted to the entrance to the secret passage and shown a video in Italian, with Italian subtitles. I would have thought English subtitles would not be difficult to add. We then walked the Passetto, first through a covered walkway, then an outdoor section. Very atmospheric and some great photos. Then we had a self guided tour of the Castel, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The way it is all laid out, doing a circuit of the Castel on different levels and with mostly quite shallow steps, meant we reached the highest point without feeling it had been a difficult climb. The views on the different levels and from the highest point were stunning. And about half way up there is a spot where you can sit and have food and/or drinks in a lovely spot.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback. We appreciate your observations regarding the meeting instructions and visitor information, which help us identify areas where the experience can be improved. We’re very pleased that the visit itself was memorable and that you enjoyed discovering the Passetto and Castel Sant’Angelo. Gyash Tours

The Passetto di Borgo Secret Passage Tour plus
We were there early (9:30) and we were the only two in our group. Tour guides were young & friendly - they took several pics for us and explained things clearly in good English. The intake employees outside the Castle was really nice too and one pointed out a special exhibition on the second floor which we loved. The beginning of the passage tour has a really nice informative video and the exhibition had a lot of informative media representations as well. The views from the Passetto di Borgo are _amazing_! Good job Coop Culture!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We are delighted that you enjoyed the Passetto di Borgo, the exhibitions, and the wonderful views. We would just like to clarify that Gyash Tours currently provides entry tickets for this attraction, but does not yet organize the guided tour itself. We are therefore pleased that the on-site team made your visit so enjoyable and informative. We look forward to welcoming you again for another experience in Rome! Gyash Tours

Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rome Passetto di Borgo & Castel Sant’Angelo Entry Ticket start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pizza & Gelato Class with Wine by Cooking Italy, Rome [4in1] Pasta Making_Tiramisù_Wine Tasting_Secret Cellar, Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
