Next you go outside the Colosseum to see the Arch of Constantine and take a short walk to the Roman Forum. The forum was the main square of Ancient Rome and the centre of political, religious and social life. The wonderful buildings that surround the square are testament to its central role in the life of Rome’s citizens. You will see the 1st century Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Temple of Saturn, the Senate House, and the white marble Arch of Septimius Severus to name a few.

Then, a walk up the Sacred Way brings you to the Capitoline Hill and Il Vittoriano, one of Italy’s most famous monuments of more modern times.

Following lunch you proceed to the Government District to see the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius. Close by is the Temple of Hadrian which was constructed in his honor by the Emperor Antoninus Pius. A walk through some of Rome’s little alleyways brings you to the Pantheon where the Renaissance painter and architect Raphael is buried.

Wonderful experience
In February of 2026 I booked a one day tour of Rome through Rome City Tours, working with Carmen. I had already booked a cruise around Italy and wanted to see Rome before I got on the ship the next day. My tour guide was Claudia. My cruise was in August and my maiden flight was delayed and I missed my connection to Rome. I booked another flight with the same airline for the next day which put me in jeopardy of missing the tour. I reached out to Carmen with my issue and she was very responsive and helpful. She put me in touch with Claudia and we worked out a solution that allowed me to take the full day tour even though I was a little late landing and getting to the hotel. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Claudia was. She was very knowledgeable and kind and we had a wonderful day touring. The whole experience with Rome City Tours was top notch and I highly recommend them.

Great Guide! Poor Communication from Company!
A fabulous day filled with all things Rome! Tommas our guide was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Vatican Museums. A great day! Only complaint would be in the booking… our day was supposed to include Pantheon admission and the company did not notify us that it would not be included. I had to ask for refund. Also, the Sistine Chapel was closed for The Conclave. The booking company should communicate changes to expected and paid for tours prior to the start of the tour. Also, the meet up coordinates and the tour guides notes do not match. Our guide expected us at the Colosseo metro and our Google maps coordinates were in front of a restaurant half a block away.

I’m not sure why this doesn’t have more reviews as I know they are very busy. From the moment we meet our guide Fransesco, we knew it would be an amazing day. Everything was perfect. Just enough time at everything. He was so knowledgeable and just a nice guy. He truly made our day perfect. Worth every penny
