Perfect Intro to Rome for weary travelers!
Our afternoon tour of Rome was the perfect introduction to the main sights of the city for a family of jet lagged travelers who were eager to explore but grateful to be driven around after just landing in Rome hours earlier. Valentino took us close to attractions like the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Coloseum, told us about them, and allowed us time to briefly visit them on our own and take photos. We felt safe and comfortable and the vehicle as clean and spacious. We were grateful that he shared his favorite gelato spot with us, and he knew the most convenient bathroom break stops as well!
Response from the operator: Buonasera! Thank You so much for your review. It means the world to us, knowing we were able to assist you with a stress-free experience of Rome. We hope to offer you our services many times again in the future. If there is ever anything we can do for you and your family, please know that you can count on Discovery Tours for all your future Italy travels. My very best, Giulia

A nice trip around Rome.
Our driver,Gilberto picked us up at our designated spot on time and took our party of four to see the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Coliseum. He was very informative and easy to understand. He knew the side streets and was able to get us around the crowds pretty easily. It was a great trip.
Response from the operator: Buonasera, We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your tour with Mr. Gilberto. We appreciate your kind feedback and hope to have you visit Rome again soon. My warmest regards, Giulia

Horrible
Take tour yourself. Don’t use them. The website says something else. Complete rip off. The guide hardly can speak English and he was making up stuff all the way through ( we did fact check on google).
Response from the operator: After further investigating, we understand you have booked our Half Day Tour of Rome, through our website. Which is built specifically to be as informative as possible, for our guests to fully understand what they are reserving and paying. The tour you chose to book is a HALF DAY TOUR (4 HOURS IN TOTAL-FROM PICK UP TO DROP OFF) The tour guide can be selected during the booking along with the Tickets, as add on extra items. In your case, you have chosen to select the tickets Only. The website is absolutely clear on anything anybody chooses to reserve at anytime, what's included and what is not. We are aware of the tour driver we provided for you for this tour and I confirm he is very well versed and knowledgeable. He did everything he could to make sure you enjoyed your tour. If the issue was denying certain last minute requests, such as demanding to use him for extra time in addition to your 4-hour tour, or eat in certain places that were overcrowded, or visit the Vatican (which is not included in this tour) he had a time commitment, and he wanted to guarantee the best experience given that the tour would last 4 hours in total. You can understand how we find your opinion to be misleading and untrue. Had we known you would've liked a longer tour or visit certain locations or include the guide in your tour, we would've certainly made sure to assist you however we could. But you never communicated your needs to us. All feedback is good feedback but to call our services Horrible is unacceptable and highly inappropriate. If you are displeased with our services, you are more than welcome to take your future requests elsewhere. Giulia

Amazing Tours
I’ve been to Italy five times since 2010. During each visit Discovery Tours Limousine Service Day Tours (Discovery Guided Tours) has taken our group on the most perfect tours. During the first four visits, Gilberto has arranged our shore excursions from the ports in Naples, Sicily, Venice and Livorno. He also arranged lovely Tuscany Wine tours from Rome after our cruises were done and airport transfers. On this trip we requested a tour in Venice and a Rome tour that took us off the beaten path. As always we were highly pleased. Upon our arrival at the train station in Venice, we were met by our tour guide and taken to our hotel first to check in before our tour started. We got to see all of the major highlights in Venice. From Saint Mark’s Basilica, Murano Island, a gondola ride and a boat tour, we had an amazing time. On our return to Rome, Gilberto graciously took us on a tour that included Catacombe San Callisto, Piramide Cestia, the Mouth of Truth, Colle del Gianicola, and the Appian Way. Gilberto didn’t just drive us to each location, he filled us in on the history of each site. At the end of the tour, Gilberto secured us a reservation at Ristorante Rinaldi. A very special thanks to Julia, Gilberto’s assistant. Julia responded to every inquiry without delay, made great recommendations to make each tour special and memorable. I can’t wait to plan my 2024 tours with you and Gilberto.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rome Half Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Rome Half Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rome Half Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Rome Half Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Half Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rome Half Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rome Half Day Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rome Half Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
