Very reliable

Prior to our trip, we booked 4 different pick ups for our trip. Each trip was on time. Service was great. Some of the driving was a bit fast, but that seems to be the norm for Italy. I will absolutely use this service again when I go back to Rome.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind review and for your valuable feedback. We are pleased to know that our service met your expectations, and we truly appreciate your comments. We will continue to work with dedication to provide a high-quality and comfortable experience for all our clients. It was a pleasure assisting you during your stay in Rome, and we sincerely hope to welcome you again in the near future.

A Wonderful Surprising Day

We had a cruise layover in Civitavecchia, so booked a "Countryside Elegance" tour with Rome Cabs. Michael, our driver, met us just as we stumbled off the ship...and brought us on a wonderful tour of the nearby countryside. First, a visit to the sweet lakeside village of Anguillara Sabazia, for a stroll, then the amazing Castello Brancaccio, a 15th century fort still redolent of the ages. Next, a marvelous lunch at Trattoria La Rocca in the ancient hilltop town of Ceri, featuring local wild boar, and a wonderful wine. And last, a trip to the Necropolis Banditaccia, where 9th century BC Etruscans buried their dead. Though the people are dust and the artifacts stolen, it was an intriguing and very large complex of caves, tombs, mounds protecting several families, and mock houses of the day. Absolutely fascinating! Michael was kindly and made some accommodations for those of us with lower mobility. He answered all our questions and played mini-lectures in excellent English on the van's PA system. We loved our tour, surprised at every turn, and we loved Michael, too!

The best way to get into Rome from the airport

Have been using Rome Cabs for almost 20 years to get to and from the airport and our hotel in Rome. The service has always been exceptional with the driver waiting for us at arrivals and quickly navigating the traffic to get us to our hotel. Large comfortable vehicles and reliable friendly service make this our go to company.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your loyalty over the years. We truly appreciate it. We’re delighted you continue to enjoy our reliable and comfortable service, and we look forward to welcoming you again soon!

Excellent experience.

Seamless experience! Roberto was courteous, kind and right on time. Thank you for maneuvering the Rome traffic so we don’t have to. We booked from the cruise port into Rome. We will certainly be booking again the next time we are in Rome.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re delighted to hear that Roberto provided a seamless and timely experience for your transfer from the cruise port into Rome. Navigating Rome’s traffic can be quite the adventure, so we’re glad you were able to sit back and enjoy the ride. We truly appreciate your trust in us and look forward to welcoming you again on your next visit to Rome!

We Love Rome Cabs

This is the second time we have used Stefano's Rome Cabs. i can't say enough about their service and communication. Their drivers are great and it is so pleasant to be met by them after an exhausting evening flight from the US. Transportation from our hotel to Civitavecchia was also excellent, with a wonderful driver and immaculate cars and vans. It is easy to communicate with them, both day and night.

Rome Cabs: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Rome Cabs cost?

+

Prices start at $28 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rome Cabs take?

+

Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Rome Cabs worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Cabs?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rome Cabs suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 0.8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Rome Cabs?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rome Cabs start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
