Unforgettable Italy Experience with Discovery Tours

If you want the absolute best experience seeing Italy, you have to book with Discovery Tours. They are truly the best in the business and provide exceptional experiences from start to finish. Giulia is incredible and does an amazing job personalizing your trip to exactly what you want. She was also extremely helpful with recommendations, including the hotel my husband and I stayed at, which was absolutely wonderful. Their drivers are professional, punctual, and incredibly kind and accommodating. They make everything seamless, from airport transfers to getting you to each destination without the stress of parking or ride shares. The vehicles are always clean and very comfortable, which made every part of the experience feel easy and enjoyable. The tour guides are outstanding. Not only do you skip long lines, but you also gain so much more insight into each location. Every tour is engaging, and the time truly flies by. We especially loved our day with Katia, who guided us through the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica. She was so knowledgeable, engaging, and had such a warm and fun personality. She shared so many fascinating details, made sure we got the best photos, and gave us thoughtful recommendations for the rest of our trip that we really appreciated. And Gilberto, the owner, is simply the best. He is incredibly kind and goes above and beyond to create unforgettable experiences. He took us to unique, off-the-beaten-path places we never would have found on our own, including Bracciano Castle, which is now one of our favorite places, and a charming medieval town where we picked up local honey and truffle salt. He also brought us to an amazing lunch spot and treated us to his wife’s absolutely delicious homemade limoncello, which was such a special touch. We truly had an unforgettable trip and can’t say enough great things about Discovery Tours. If you’re planning a trip to Italy, you won’t be disappointed booking with them. My husband and I can’t wait to return and travel with them again.

Response from the operator: You are TOO KIND! Thank you so much for your detailed review! :) We are so happy to hear you had such a good time with us. And we do look forward to seeing you again in the near future! If there is ever anything we can do for you, please feel free to reach out to us anytime. We'll be delighted to hear from you! All the best, Giulia

We Highly Recommend Discovery Tours!

We scheduled multiple tours via Discovery Tours while visiting Naples, Rome, Pisa and Florence on our Mediterranean cruise. Each and every tour set up by Discovery Tours was simply excellent! Pasquale, Marco (The Great) and Sabrina were our tour guides. Each of our guides were truly fabulous! Friendly! Timely! Informative! Courteous! Reliable! Accommodating! Etc… We could not have asked for better tour guides! In the time allotted for our tours we were able to visit and do just about everything we desired at each destination! We saw and experienced things that we had only dreamed of! Our special thanks to Giulia and Karolina for setting everything up for us! You two are the best! We highly recommend Discovery Tours! AAAAA+++++

Response from the operator: Buonasera! You are too kind. Thank You so much for your very kind words. Your review is much appreciated. We look forward to the opportunity of arranging our services again for you in the near future. Thank You so much and keep coming back! :)

Discovery Tours Made Our Day in Rome Truly Unforgettable

Gilberto could teach a college course, blending ancient history with modern culture. He was a pleasure to be with and made it interesting, insightful and fun. Effortlessly, he was able to guide us through our long checklist, taking in everything we desired in our 10-hour time frame. He then put us in the very capable hands of Valerio, who gave us a Master’s Class as we explored the Vatican. An art and history expert, Valerio strategically merged his iPad as a teaching aid, and was able to help us live the incredible history of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel.

Response from the operator: Tank you so much for your wonderful review. We are thrilled to hear that your day with Gilberto was enjoyable, insightful, and full of interesting discoveries. He truly has a gift for bringing history to life. We are also delighted that Valerio made your Vatican experience so memorable. We are very happy that we were able to help you fit everything into your schedule and make the most of your time. We hope to welcome you back again for more adventures.

Best day with Gabriele in Rome

We had the best time on the tour to the Pentathlon, Trevi Fountain, Coliseum, lunch, and the Vatican. It was by far the best day and tour we had on our 3 week European vacation. Gabriele was our driver and we couldn't ask for a better guide for our day. He drove us right up to where we needed to go, gave us our tickets and directions and met us back in the same easy to find spot. He was great with adults and our young teens. He even gave us Italian lessons. There is no way if we did this with a group we could have gotten everything in in just one day. It was well worth the money spent.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! It is so nice of you. We do hope to see you all again. If there is ever anything we can help you with, feel free to reach out to us anytime! My best, Giulia

Rome in a day

I can’t say enough about this tour. We booked this private tour because we were coming in just for a day on a cruise. Marco picked us up from the port drove us into Rome and was very friendly and informative. Then we picked up Katia for our tours and she was simply amazing. So informative, friendly and got us through the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, and Colosseum with pointing out highlights along the way. If you have to do Rome in a day I totally recommend Discovery Tours. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you for your feedback. Marco and Katia will be thrilled to know you enjoyed your tour with them! Thank you for choosing us! We hope to have the opportunity of arranging our services for you again. Wishing you the best!

Rome and Vatican full day tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.

How much does Rome and Vatican full day tour cost?

+

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rome and Vatican full day tour take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.

Is Rome and Vatican full day tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rome and Vatican full day tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rome and Vatican full day tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rome and Vatican full day tour?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rome and Vatican full day tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rome?

+

Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rome?

+

April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rome?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
