Piedmont (Piemonte in Italian) means "foot of the mountains", Turin, the region's major city isn't just the car capital of Italy and home to the Holy Shroud. Neoclassical piazzas, shops filled with chocolates and chic fashions, and elegant Baroque palazzos have been restored in grand style. We’re a small team, we want you to discover the beauty of Turin and Piemont. Piedmont is a region rich in history, well worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. We suggest, but you decide what you want to see and do. Our group are max 3 people,we are in no hurry, we do the tours with a lot of relax.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Castello di Rivoli Museum of Contemporary Art

The Baroque castle of Rivoli now houses a fascinating museum of contemporary art. The building was begun in the 17th century, then redesigned but never finished by Juvarra in the 18th century; it was finally converted into a museum in the late 20th century by the minimalist Turin architect Andrea Bruno. On display are changing international exhibitions and a permanent collection of 20th -century Italian art. The castle of Rivoli can be visited from Thursday to Sunday.

    2. Sacra Di San Michele

A forbidding fortified abbey anchored atop a rocky hill, the Sacra di San Michele. To reach the church, you must climb 150 steps, past 12th-century sculptures, from the Porta dello Zodiaco, a splendid Romanesque doorway decorated with the signs of the zodiac. On the left side of the interior are 16th-century frescoes representing New Testaments themes; on the right are depictions of the founding of the church. Note that some sections of the abbey are open only on weekends and, when particularly crowded, visit may be limited to hour-long tours. Weather permitting, the views from the walls and terraces surrounding the church are breathtaking. If the weather is snowy you cannot reach the Sacra di San Michele , the tour guide will suggest an alternative itinerary.

Great tour but they do not show much

It was a very nice tour with a professional and experienced guide! The only thing is that the whole interior of a Monastery was closed for visitors! So the tour is pretty expensive, but its content is not actually great in terms of information provided.

Response from the operator: Hello Adil, when it's very windy, the terrace of the Sacra di San Michele is closed for safety reasons. Thank you.

Rivoli Castle and Sacra San Michele day trip

Lovely day spend visitng gorgeous sites. Wonderful to have our lovely tour guide Giuseppe for the day. Rivoli Castle is great for lovers of contemporary art, helped by the fact that we had our own guide explaining history of the building and art installations. San Michele is set in stunning scenery, followed by a lovely traditional lunch nearby. A wonderful day to spend outside of Torino.

Response from the operator: Thanks Fiona me and my collaborator are happy that you liked the tour the satisfaction of the tourist makes us satisfied

Sacra di San Michele highlight of Torino

This is a fantastic tour. The guide was terrific and even took me to see the Shroud too. He took me to Veneria Palace as Rivoli was not open and the guide there was terrific too. Sacra di San Michele was the highlight, even in a thunderstorm! I thoroughly recommend this trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you Mrs. Lynette it was also a pleasure for me to accompany you on this tour.

Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Turin.

How much does Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele cost?

    +

Prices start at $285 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Turin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Turin is not rushed.

Is Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Turin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Turin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Turin and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rivoli's Castle & Sacra di San Michele start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Turin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Turin?

    +

On Outty we rank every Turin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Turin: Small-group Walking Tour of Top City Highlights, StreetFood D’Luxe Experience — Tastes of Turin, Turin Gourmet Tour: A Premium Tasting Experience by Do Eat Better. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Turin?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Turin?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
