Cultural experience in Rio de Janeiro with Florencios Tours & Travel
Florencios Tours and Travel Our adventures and experiences in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, would not have been the same without the phenomenal Florencios Tours. We found them on Instagram after a frustrating attempt at scheduling everything ourselves. We have these amazing people to thank, beginning with the owner and CEO, Damiana Silva. We were able to create our entire itinerary over a month before we arrived in Rio. We told Damiana the sites we wanted to see and gave her our budget, and she did the rest. She sent us a sample of a daily itinerary with options for us to select, with the prices including those sites we identified. She provided information about each of the options that helped us choose wisely. We wanted a culturally immersive experience as opposed to a purely sightseeing tour. Once our itinerary was set, we were given time to pay the deposit and the balance. We were given the name of our guide in advance. Our guide, Larissa Mariana, was waiting for us when we arrived. She was the absolute best person for us. Her knowledge of the history and culture was unmatched, and her joy and enthusiasm to share it with us was infectious. Everywhere we went, she prepared us with the history, the key people and influencers, and why that experience was so important. Larissa could teach a college-level course on Rio history and culture. She exposed us to so many sites, sounds, stories, smells, and tastes that I will remember forever. For example, we had an up-close encounter with capybaras, and I will forever be on the lookout for caramel dogs. Larissa was very observant of our needs and was very watchful for our safety, simple things like telling us to watch our step on an uneven sidewalk and assisting us up and down high places and in and out of the car. This was very important for two senior women traveling alone. She was always timely picking us up and dropping us off at the hotel. We had an itinerary when we arrived at 8am but hotel check-in time was 4pm and when leaving, check-out time was 12pm but our flight was at 10 p.m. She planned how we would spend that time exploring and experiencing Rio. Of course, we could not have gotten to any of our adventures without our wonderful driver, Thiago. He was always on time, and his ability to negotiate traffic was amazing. We always felt safe. Our itinerary included exploring Pantanal Carioca with lunch on Gigoia Island. We experienced world-famous landmarks such as Christ the Redeemer on Corcovado Mountain via the traditional cog train and Sugarloaf Mountain via cable cars. We journeyed through the history and heritage of Little Africa, explored Parque Lage and Tijuca Forest, and visited the stunning Maze Art Gallery in the Tavares Bastos Favela. The Carnaval Experience was phenomenal as well as the culinary experience at the historic Rio Scenarium. Of course, we had excursions to Ipanema, Arpoador, and Copacabana beaches. We ended our experience with a visit to the Santa Teresa Bohemian district and the historic port area. If you want to experience a Rio de Janeiro cultural journey, we highly recommend Florencios Tours and Travel.
Response from the operator: Regina, thank you so much for this beautiful and heartfelt review! 💛 It was truly a pleasure to create and coordinate this special Rio experience for you and Kathy. Larissa, Thiago, and our entire Florencios team are so grateful for your kind words. Thank you for trusting Florencios Tours & Travel with your journey. We hope Rio will stay in your hearts for many years to come. 🇧🇷✨ With gratitude, Damiana & the Florencios Team

Experience of a lifetime
What an amazing experience! Our guide was super knowledgeable, very friendly, and managed to answer all 1,200 questions that my wife asked her, Lol. I definitely appreciated the hotel pick up and dedicated transportation throughout the entire day. And the lunch suggestion could not have been more perfect for us. All in all, this tour was absolutely perfect. Thank you for the experience of a lifetime.

Best way to see Rio
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were with a group of 30+ and it was a well organized 2-1/2 day tour. We also did a Carnival Experience and a hike (some in our group went hang gliding)-highly recommend those as well.

Group of foreigners - 3 days
We hired Florencios Tour to organize 3 days of activities in Rio de Janeiro with a group of 30 foreigners. We couldn't have chosen a better Enterprise. Everything went very well, from transportation, ticket purchase, and security. Damiana is very attentive and knows Rio like no one else. We also followed his recommendations of local cuisine which were amazing. Thank you for the amazing experience!!!

+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
