What you get
About this experience
Live an unforgettable experience in Ribera del Duero (Considered the best area region of the world in 2012) and enjoy its wines on this 10-hour guided tour from Madrid. You will visit 2 wineries (sometimes 3), and taste different wines. We visit (1/2) wineries in the morning and a second (possibly a third, if we visit 2 in the morning) in the afternoon. We try to show you also on the way what is worth in terms of gastronomy (a very good restaurant)(our clients usually appreciate a lot what and where we eat), landscapes, medieval towns or even a castle if possible. We try to do the activities with a glass of wine if possible. The experience we are proposing is not only wine, but wine is present nearly all the time. And what wines!

What you'll see and do
Ribera del Duero
Ribera has been considered the best area region of the world by The Wine Expectator in the year 2012. Ribera means “side of the river”. We are going to try to make you have a beautiful day visiting at least 2 wineries (maybe 3 if we are lucky). We will depart from Madrid at 9,30 h and we will arrive to the first winery 2 hours later. From there you will go to have lunch (not included in price of the tour). There are so many restaurants where you can taste the traditional Castilian food. This tour is about wine but we do not forget that there is a beautiful gastronomy on the area. In the afternoon we will visit a second winery, different from the first. We might visit a third winery depending on how fast we arrive to the first winery or the time we spend in the different activities. We will try on the way to the wineries to show as much as we can in order to make you understand that Ribera del Duero is very good wine but also many other things. (Gastronomy, landscapes, maybe a castle, history, underground caves, etc). We are getting payed for this activity but our true prize is that at the end of the tour you are 100 % satisfied. This is our goal. We are happy when we get it. And our experience says that most of our clients are satisfied on how hard we try to make you have a beautiful day. We will leave you at the same place where we started at 20 h.

Ribera Del Duero Wine Tour.
What a wonderful day we had. Ignacio, our driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable about history and wine making. He made our day very memorable. We visited two wineries and both had excellent wines. The restaurant suggestion was very good too. Thank you for a fantastic day.

Quality wines, caves, history and architecture.
The tour was great and versatile. We were introduced about Spanish history that was interesting. Especially the lunch restaurant was great experience with excellent food and surprisingly caves. The wineries had quality wines in their tastings. Quick visit for third winery had some nice art and the building had amazing views and architecture.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your comment. We're glad you enjoyed our tour. We look forward to seeing you again if you come back to Madrid.

A great day in Ribera del Duero
The trip to the wine region of Ribera del Duero was a lot of fun. Our tour guide, Ignacios, is very knowledgeable about Spanish wine and history of Spain. With his fluent English, we have learned a lot on the way to the wineries. We stoped by 2 wineries but we particulaly like the fisrt winery(ValSotillo) we visited. The owner gave us a tour to this huge cave with over a thousand barrels of wine in it. It was impressive! The highlight of course is the wine tasting after the tour. We tasted some great bottles of Tempranillo. They were so delicious. It's a small winery and their wines are hard to find in US so we ended up buying some bolltes and have the winery delivered them to home(for a fee). I can't wait to receive in 4 weeks. Overall, this is a well organized tour and is a great getaway for a day outside of Madrid. I am glad we booked this trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your comment. We are here if you come back to Madrid. Un abrazo

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid cost?
+
Prices start at $159 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 112 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid?
+
Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ribera del Duero Winery Guided Tour and Wine Tasting from Madrid start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
