Complete and educational impression of Rhodes

I was previously in Rhodes and love to explore the paths and roads of the place I am in a rental car. On my first visit I had already seen that there are gravel paths in the mountains that you can hardly pass through with a regular car. With Uncharted Escapes off-road vehicles, that's obviously a piece of cake, and certainly with a V8 Discovery! The advantage here is that the driver is also the guide, so you get very targeted information in the compact setting of the car. Now...100 guides = 100 times a different approach or approach; our car had a guide with an encyclopedic knowledge about the many facets of the island of Rhodes, ranging from nature, (war) history, language, local customs and so much more... The mas was so enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge that he remained silent for maybe 5 minutes during the 8-hour trip. There are certainly people who will appreciate that, but there are as many people who like to enjoy the passing landscape where nothing is said for a moment. The fact is that those interested learn a lot and that after such a day you will see things through a different (read: less touristy) pair of glasses. For me personally, the off-road part could be a bit more extensive because I saw about 80% of the route covered earlier by rental car on my own. If you're not keen on a rental car, make sure to do this trip; it's not cheap but you'll get an impression of Rhodes that the big buses can never give you!

What a great time, thank you Thanassis 💖

Wow, what an amazing day! From start to finish, our driver, Thanassis, was fantastic. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and fun, and he took us to some of the island’s hidden gems that we never would have found on our own. One of the highlights was stopping at a lovely little bar where the owners welcomed us so warmly and gave us samples of their homemade olive oil and honey. We also had lunch at a charming family-run restaurant serving authentic Greek food, and it was absolutely delicious. The whole experience was unforgettable, and we would recommend this tour in a heartbeat!

Response from the operator: Dear Jayne, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re truly delighted that your day with Uncharted Escapes was so memorable. Thanassis will be thrilled to hear your kind words—it’s our passion to share the hidden side of the island through authentic experiences, local hospitality, and breathtaking landscapes. We’re especially happy you enjoyed the olive oil and honey tasting, as well as the traditional family-run tavern, where genuine Greek flavors and warm hospitality come together. Thank you for your recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you again on another Uncharted Escapes adventure, discovering even more of Greece beyond the ordinary! Kind Regards, Manos Malaxianakis Uncharted Escapes

A great way to explore more remote parts of Rhodes as well as some of the more familiar sights.

My son (21) and I wanted to take a trip we would both enjoy. We booked a day out with Unchartered Escapes to have an 'off-roading' experience of Rhodes. We were concerned that the trip would be cancelled due to the recent storms, and we were relieved to hear it was going ahead, with our driver making adaptations as we went along (for example when it began to hail). We were collected and dropped off at our hotel, and it was just us on the trip (probably because we are so early in the season). We had a great day; our driver was friendly and informative, and happy to share his knowledge of Rhodes. We saw more than I have seen in my previous six visits to Rhodes as he took us to places that could only realistically be accessed by jeep. We got to understand more about the history of Rhodes and the lives of the people who live here, both currently and in the past. We also had a delicious lunch in Platania Village. They accommodated my dietary needs (gluten free) and we did our best to work our way through the plates of food that seemed to just keep coming! All the while taking in a beautiful view. Although the trip isn't cheap, it is a similar price to some of the other safari tours. It's definitely a bumpy experience; we both found the jeep comfortable and enjoyed being bumped around - but as the pre-booking information suggests, you may want to avoid this if you have a bad back. Overall a great day out - thank you

Response from the operator: Dear traveller, Thank you for your valuable feedback and greta review provided. We are very happy that our escort made your day unique and memorable. We look forward to host you back in one of our tours around Greece! Kind Regards, Manos Malaxianakis

    Great day out

A great day out exploring hidden aspects of North Rhodes. Easily the best day of our two week trip. Our guide Thanassis was awesome and his enthusiasm and love of Rhodes made the trip a great experience. We intend to come back to Rhodes as soon as we can and will definitely be doing the South Rhodes trip when we do. He took us for an amazing lunch at the Perama Taverna in Platonia, I could happily eat the food there until I burst at the seams. Really can't recommend this tour enough.

Response from the operator: Dear Traveller thank you for you positive review and greta feedback provided! We are very happy that Thanassis made you day memorable. We look forward to see you again back in one of our trips around Greece!

Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors cost?

    +

Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rhodes North Safari: Hidden Paths & Scenic Flavors start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
