Liverpool is one of the most filmed in cities in Europe and with us, you will embark on Liverpool's only dedicated Film & TV location walking tour in the region. You will visit the sites of some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters, right through to some of the most exciting, independent features of recent years. Even if you're not a movie buff, there is plenty to enjoy with a whole host of pop-culture and local history trivia thrown in for good measure. Your guide, Gary regularly appears on BBC radio discussing the latest projects being made in the city and he also frequently hosts Q&A events with stars of the stage and screen. He has also worked on numerous productions that have been made in the region, so expect anecdotes and personal tales that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. Williamson Square
Williamson Square is the starting point of the tour. Here guests will see one of the first squares in the city, which is home to one of Liverpool's major film locations as well as numerous other cultural sights - including the Williamson Square Fountain.

Eleanor Rigby Statue
Whilst on Stanley Street, guests will see two important filming locations in the city and directly next to one of them, is one of Liverpool's first statues, dedicated to The Beatles, which is the Eleanor Rigby statue. Guests will learn of the hidden history of the statue as well as that of the two film locations which are merely yards away.

The Cavern Club
During the tour, we take a stroll down Mathew Street where you will see the exterior of the world-famous Cavern Club. Bookers will learn the history of the street along with information regarding the many popular musicians who have played in the venue over the years. The street has also featured in numerous film & TV shows over the years, so you will learn all about these and although we don't go inside the actual club, photographs are shown to give you an idea of what it was like inside back in the 1960s.

Castle Street
Castle Street is synonymous with film. Three major motion pictures have all been filmed on the street. Guests will hear about the making of these movies and how they were represented on the silver screen as well as taking in some of the wonderful views of Liverpool Town Hall and also the Queen Victoria monument. Pier Head
On the banks of the wonderful River Mersey, you will be able to take in the spectacular views of the "Three Graces" of Liverpool. The Port of Liverpool, The Cunard and the Royal Liver Building - arguably the three most iconic buildings in the city. Gary, your guide, will take you through the history of the area and how it relates to cinema and TV - which famous independent and Hollywood blockbuster films they have all appeared in as well as discussing how prominent the river has been in films made in the area.

From Exchange Flags, you will see the exteriors of the magnificent Martins Bank and Liverpool Town Hall. Great way to see the city. Films will never be the same again
Gary was enthusiastic, entertaining and knowledgeable.. 11am was just the right timing for our first morning in Liverpool, following a Whetherspoons breakfast nearby the meeting spot. It's a great way to "place" yourself and learn more about the city before making your way around yourself. Whether you are a film buff or not, you'll learn something and enjoy it.

Fantastic walking tour
What a fantastic walking tour. Gary is both entertaining and knowledgeable. His enthusiasm for both Liverpool and the film industry is exceptional. The tour is well paced. We were in a group of 26. My husband and I could have spend all day listening to his fascinating facts. He certainly knows his stuff and obviously enjoys what he does. Well worth every penny.

Brilliant and Insightful
Brilliant and insightful tour around Liverpool and the history of the films that have been filmed over the years.. Gary had an unbelievable knowledge of films and the history of Liverpool throughout the tour. A well mannered and interesting person to show you around the city and it's history of film Being from Liverpool myself it made me proud of the city. Would definitely recommend anyone who's interested in film to take the tour. The 2.5 hours flown by and could of easily listened and walked more

A Fascinating Look at Liverpool's Film & TV Heritage – Excellent Tour with Gary
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Liverpool Film & TV Walking Tour We recently took The Director's Cut 2.5-hour Walking Tour with Reel Tours, and it was a brilliant way to spend an afternoon in Liverpool. Our guide, Gary, was exceptionally knowledgeable, enthusiastic and engaging throughout. His passion for Liverpool's rich film and television heritage really shone through, and he brought each location to life with fascinating stories, behind-the-scenes insights and plenty of local history. What impressed us most was the sheer number of well-known TV shows and films that have used Liverpool as a filming location. Even as someone familiar with the city, I learned a great deal about places I thought I already knew. Gary's ability to connect the city's architecture, history and screen appearances made the tour both entertaining and educational. The pace was relaxed, the route was well planned, and there were lots of opportunities to ask questions. Whether you're a film enthusiast, a television fan, a visitor to Liverpool or a local looking to see the city from a different perspective, I would highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Gary, for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. We left with a much greater appreciation of Liverpool's role in the film and television industry and would happily recommend Reel Tours to anyone visiting the city.
