Amazing Rainbow Mountain & Red valley with ATV (almost no hike) Experience.

Amazing Rainbow Mountain & Red valley with ATV (almost no hike) Experience. We had an amazing experience visiting Rainbow Mountain and Red Mountain by ATV. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly, making the day fun and stress-free. Our guide, Abel, was fantastic. He took care of everything and made us feel safe throughout the experience. He explained everything with passion and enthusiasm, and was funny, friendly, kind, and genuinely enjoyable to spend the day with. Rainbow Mountain was spectacular, but Red Mountain was a huge surprise. We hadn’t expected it to be so impressive, and in some ways found it just as spectacular as Rainbow Mountain. We also loved that this experience required very little walking. We could get close to the best viewpoint at Rainbow Mountain without much effort, and there was essentially no walking required at Red Mountain. This made the experience much more enjoyable, especially at such high altitude. The incredible scenery, ATVs, and Abel’s excellent guiding made this one of our favorite experiences in Peru. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you for such a thoughtful review! We're happy Abel's care, humour and enthusiastic explanations made the day feel safe and fun. It's lovely that Red Valley surprised you as much as Rainbow Mountain impressed you. With little walking, the ATVs helped you enjoy those views more comfortably at altitude. Hearing it was a Peru favourite makes our day. Thanks for recommending Viajes Speedy!

    Awesome

The tour itself was great. But our guide “Avel” was awesome and outstanding. Looking out for his “clients” and providing accurate information as to everything we could expect. He would get a 10 out of 10

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your beautiful words! It truly means a lot to all of us. We're so happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour, and it makes us especially proud to know that Avel made such a positive impact on your experience. He genuinely loves what he does, and knowing that his care, attention, and guidance helped make your day even more memorable is the best reward we could ask for. Your 10 out of 10 means the world to us. Thank you for choosing to travel with us, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Peru for another amazing adventure in the future. Safe travels!

The experience was subpar, but the attraction itself was worth seeing.

Make sure you bring peptobistmol, the drive is more than a little rough. The driver was speeding the whole time and slams on the breaks at every speed bump, he was speeding around all other cars on the road and a few times we were going head on with semis just so he could pass a car. They were very unorganized, the night before the tour we were getting messages from multiple numbers about our pick up. The guide was rude and when we finally arrived at rainbow mountain they only gave us 20 min to view the site. Our family was the only ones who wanted to see red valley, they sent us with a spanish only member of their team and though he didnt speak any English he was a much better guide. They made it seem like we would freeze on the mountains when we had stopped at there breakfast area, just to get us to buy warm weather gear we didn't need. The mountain wasn't cold at all. They advertised air conditioning yet we baked in the heat in the crowded van all the way back to the city. If you don't mind a waisted day go for it, however if you want to enjoy your time just try to find a place to stay near the site to get more out of your time.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We sincerely appreciate all comments, as they help us improve the experience we provide to our guests. First and foremost, we are truly sorry to hear that certain aspects of your tour did not meet your expectations. Providing a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience is always our highest priority, and we regret that you felt disappointed with some parts of the day. We take your comments regarding the driving seriously. Safety is extremely important to us, and we will review your observations with our transportation team to ensure that all driving standards and company protocols are consistently followed. We also apologize for any confusion caused by receiving messages from different phone numbers prior to your tour. During busy periods, our operations team may use multiple contact numbers to ensure guests receive timely pickup information, but we understand how this may have seemed disorganized and will work on improving our communication process. We are sorry to learn that you perceived the guide's attitude as unfriendly. Our goal is always to provide attentive and professional service, and your comments will be discussed internally to help us improve. Regarding the time spent at Rainbow Mountain, our schedule is designed to coordinate with weather conditions, road access, and the return logistics for all participants. However, we understand that some travelers would prefer additional time, especially those interested in visiting Red Valley, and we appreciate your suggestion. We are pleased to hear that despite the language barrier, the local team member who accompanied your family to Red Valley helped make that part of your experience more enjoyable. As for our recommendations about warm clothing, these are given based on the highly unpredictable weather conditions in the Andes, where temperatures can change rapidly throughout the day. We certainly do not intend to pressure guests into purchasing items they do not need, and we apologize if it came across that way. Lastly, we regret that the vehicle's air conditioning did not provide the level of comfort you expected during the return journey. We will inspect our vehicles to ensure all amenities are functioning properly. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, both positive and critical. It helps us continue refining our services and offering better experiences to future travelers. We wish you many wonderful adventures ahead and thank you again for giving us the opportunity to accompany you on your visit to Rainbow Mountain. Warm regards, The Speedy Tour Operator Team 🌈🏔️✨

Great way to see Rainbow Mountain

Well-organized tour and great way to see Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley! We had a good and attentive guide, Avel. We were picked up at our hotel at 3am, so it was super early, but riding the ATVs was a lot of fun and a nice change of pace after hiking for several days. We drove the ATVs to the furthest point we could but still had to walk up to the top of Rainbow Mountain. It wasn’t a long walk but it is challenging with the altitude. The Ausangate glacier is right there too and it was amazing to see. Overall, good tour and would recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're happy to hear you enjoyed the adventure and that Avel took great care of you throughout the day. The ATV ride is definitely a fun way to experience the area, and the views of Rainbow Mountain, Red Valley, and the Ausangate Glacier make the early start worthwhile. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you again in Cusco!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Red Valley and Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour with No Hiking cost?

    +

How long does Red Valley and Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour with No Hiking take?

Is Red Valley and Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour with No Hiking worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Red Valley and Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour with No Hiking?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Full-Day Humantay Lake Trek (Meals Included), Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
