Amazing views and adrenaline
Bob gave us info ahead of time to make finding the meeting spot easy. He had tons of local insider info and facts about the diverse ecosystem. He was a patient teacher and hiked at our speed up to the rocks. He even let us engage in a bit of rock climbing as well as repelling! Perfect balance of silence and conversation. A very unique experience. Physical but beautiful.

There was a some climbing...
Fantastic experience and we are so glad we signed up. They do small groups so very attentive. There was a some climbing involved, recommend pants and light long sleeved shirt like a sun shirt for protection. I recommend being very honest with your level of nerves, especially once you are up there and they will absolutely work with you to make sure you are comfortable and confident.

Incredible adventure!
Jose is an amazing guide! There was some practice time and then four progressively more interesting rappels. There is a moderate level of fitness required to climb up the rocks each time, and you will need good shoes, but Jose takes care of all the equipment, water, and snacks. It was my first time, and there were definitely some jitters, but I had an incredible experience!

Great way to spend the afternoon!
We had a wonderful afternoon with Jose - he came fully prepared for the trip and was extremely knowledgeable about the area. We had a short walk up to a great spot that could accommodate the 5 of us. Our 2 boys (aged 11 and 13) enjoyed the scramble up to the top as much as the rappelling down. Really thorough in the instructions and guidance through the different descents we took. We stayed in the same place which was great as we just moved along the different angles of the mountain - each with their own challenge. The views were fantastic! It was a really fun (and tiring) afternoon! If we come back to Phoenix we will be reaching out to Jose again to take us on our next adventure!

My son and I had a great time learning to rappel. Jose was great. We are looking forward to another rappelling adventure with him on our next trip to Scottsdale.

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Scottsdale.
How much does Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale cost?
+
Prices start at $192 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Scottsdale usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Scottsdale is not rushed.
Is Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Scottsdale, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Scottsdale can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Scottsdale and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rappelling Adventure in Scottsdale start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Scottsdale within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Scottsdale?
+
Scottsdale pairs polished Old Town food, art and nightlife tours with hard desert adventure: Jeep runs through the Tonto, hot air balloons at dawn, horseback rides and e-bike routes along the greenbelt. Operator permits decide which trails a tour can actually reach, so we look closely at route detail. On Outty we rank every Scottsdale experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedal Bar Crawl of Old Town Scottsdale, Sonoran Desert Jeep Tour at Sunset, 8:00AM Desert Off-Road UTV Tour, 2 hours, 2 people per vehicle. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Scottsdale?
+
November to April, with dawn departures through the summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Scottsdale?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
