Directions such as...
Directions such as "right" or "left" would have been better if they were "north/south/east/west." I found the directions confusing.

Easy to use app that guided me through downtown Raleigh. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and learning about the city.

Disappointing
Very very poorly organized. We were never given a time that the tour began. It just said after 1 o’clock. We showed up at 20 and there was no one anywhere to be found. So we called the phone number on the listing and a woman answered with what sounded like 10 kids screaming at the top of their voices in the background. I couldn’t even hear her or understand her. She never wants apologize for or try to make it stop. Finally, we gave up and went on the tour on our own. But the description and set up were very poorly managed and confusing.
Response from the operator: Hi Kris, this is Audrey Dunn, the woman you spoke with on the phone. I am so sorry for the confusion about our self-guided walking tours on the WalknTours app. All the experiences happen at whatever time you choose, on your own schedule, at your own pace, and without a physical tour guide. We try our best to communicate this through the listing tile, descriptions, email and automatic text confirmations. When I say “we” I actually just mean Greg Dunn, my husband who runs this company all by himself. He does not outsource customer service and answers every single call he can! On nights and weekends I try to help by answering calls and yes when you called mid day on Easter weekend we were with our kids. We have 3 young ones and that sure does feel like 10! Anyway, I’m so sorry for your negative experience and we’d love to offer you a free Code to try another tour on us. You have the app, and now that you know the process and what to expect, I’m hopeful the experience will be a lot smoother. Email greg@walkntours.com and he’ll make it happen. Appreciate your consideration to try again, we’re just an average American family trying to make ends meet.

Pretty good for a quick tour of Raleigh
This helped fill some time and learn a little about the history of Raleigh. I recommend stopping at the old City Hall and the new Legislative building and doing a tour there.

Solid GPS Walking Tour of Raleigh
This is our 4th guided GPS App Walking Tour - they're generally a great way to explore an area on your own time at your own speed and without breaking the bank. This one was easy to follow but missed a couple of places we wanted to see, including the convention center and Red Hat Amphitheater.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Raleigh.
How much does Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Raleigh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 0.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Raleigh is not rushed.
Is Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Raleigh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Raleigh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Raleigh and add a light layer if any part of the 0.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Raleigh Downtown Smartphone Guided GPS App Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Raleigh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Raleigh?
+
Raleigh offers museum-heavy downtown walks, brewery and food tours through the Triangle, historic Oakwood strolls and short drives to Durham and Chapel Hill. On Outty we rank every Raleigh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Raleigh Historian-Guided Downtown Walking Tour, Raleigh True Crime Tour, Guided Walking Historian Tour in Downtown Durham. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Raleigh?
+
April to May and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Raleigh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
