Luxury Tours was nothing short of exceptional.

From the very beginning, Jill was wonderful to work with. Her professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail made the planning process seamless, and she was instrumental in ensuring every aspect of our program came together perfectly. Our guests who experienced the Rainforest Waterfall Trek absolutely raved about their guide, Lisa. Her knowledge of the area, engaging personality, and genuine passion for Alaska created an unforgettable adventure. Guests returned talking about the breathtaking scenery, beautiful trails, and incredible waterfalls, sharing that it was one of the most memorable experiences of their visit to Juneau. Lisa’s enthusiasm and storytelling truly brought the rainforest to life. I also want to recognize Kevin, who demonstrated outstanding professionalism and flexibility throughout the day. Although changing weather meant his tour ultimately wasn’t needed, he remained on standby without hesitation, ready to step in at a moment’s notice if our helicopter guests needed an alternative experience. His patience, positive attitude, and willingness to adapt gave me tremendous peace of mind during a day when flexibility was everything. Having a partner who is that dependable is invaluable. As a destination management company, having trusted partners makes all the difference, and Alaska Luxury Tours proved to be exactly that. Thank you to Jill, Lisa, Kevin, and the entire team for your outstanding service and commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences. We look forward to working with you again and highly recommend Alaska Luxury Tours to anyone looking to experience the very best of Juneau.

A great hike with informative and patient guides!

Our group of 4 was perfect for this hike. We had one member of our party who came down with a cold on short notice, but still wanted to go. The guides were great and very understanding. We went slower than most groups that I read in previous reviews, so I'm glad we were the only people on the tour, so we did not hold up strangers. We took many short breaks along the hike but the trail through the woods was magical. We were expecting to get closer to the glacier (which may or may not have had to do with our slower than average pace). I believe we were told there would be about a 600 foot elevation gain, but it felt like more.

Response from the operator: Keith, thank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback on the Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek. We’re glad to hear your small, private group was a good fit for the hike and that our guides were patient, understanding, and flexible with your group’s pace. One of the benefits of a personalized Juneau hiking tour is the ability to adjust the experience so everyone can enjoy it comfortably, especially when unexpected circumstances arise. It’s great to hear you still found the rainforest trail magical and enjoyed taking time to soak in the surroundings along the way. We appreciate your notes regarding elevation gain and proximity to the glacier. Trail conditions, pace, and weather can all influence how the hike feels, and your feedback is helpful for future guests planning their adventure. Thank you for choosing Alaska Luxury Tours, and we hope to host you again on another Juneau outdoor experience.

    Family hike & waterfall excursion

Cruise into Juneau, and booked this tour for a hike and waterfall tour. The rain had us wondering if this was the best decision. Our tour guide, Katie was excellent. She offered several suggestions, and we decided to take a shorter hike and walk over to Nugget Falls. She was entertaining, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun! Thanks Katie!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with our Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek! Juneau weather can always be an adventure of its own, and we’re glad Katie helped turn a rainy day into a memorable family outing. Flexibility is an important part of our Juneau hiking tours, and it’s great to hear Katie offered options that worked best for your group. Choosing a shorter rainforest walk and a visit to Nugget Falls is a wonderful way to enjoy the area while still taking in the beauty of Juneau’s waterfalls and scenery. We’re happy to hear her knowledge, energy, and sense of fun made the experience enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for choosing Alaska Luxury Tours, and we hope to see your family again on a future Juneau adventure.

    Beautiful hike

This was a highlight of our cruise! Our guide was amazing - knowledgeable and kept a nice pace. We were the only people on the trail and it was so clean and beautiful. A much needed break from the crowds. My kids had a blast. Perfect effort to reward ratio!

Response from the operator: Thank you for the lovely review! We’re so happy to hear the Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek was a highlight of your cruise stop in Juneau. Getting away from the crowds and into the quiet of the rainforest is exactly what this hike is designed for, and it’s wonderful to know your group enjoyed having the trail to yourselves. Our guides love tailoring the pace so everyone—especially families—can have fun while still feeling rewarded by the scenery. We’re especially glad your kids had a great time and that the hike felt like the perfect balance of effort and payoff. Thank you for choosing Alaska Luxury Tours, and we hope to see your family again on another Juneau adventure.

Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Juneau.

How much does Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek cost?

    +

Prices start at $249 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Juneau usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Juneau is not rushed.

Is Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Juneau, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Juneau can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Juneau and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rainforest & Waterfalls Trek start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Juneau within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Juneau?

    +

Juneau runs Mendenhall Glacier trips, whale watching in Auke Bay, helicopter glacier landings with dog sledding, and rainforest hikes. Most tours are timed to cruise ship windows, so we weight clear duration and pickup detail. On Outty we rank every Juneau experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching, Juneau Wildlife Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier, Whales and Wilderness Exploration. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Juneau?

    +

May to September, peaking for humpbacks in June and July. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Juneau?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
