Chasing waterfalls in St Lucia

My husband and I booked this excursion on our honeymoon/anniversary trip since we love waterfalls so much that we try to see one on every vacation. This adventure did not disappoint especially with Krystal as our tour guide! She was incredible and so knowledgeable about all things St. Lucia. The scenery is stunning, the waterfall was so refreshing and the jeep ride was tons of fun!

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you for sharing your wonderful review! We're so happy you enjoyed the beautiful scenery, refreshing waterfall, and fun jeep ride. We appreciate your kind feedback and are thrilled that the experience lived up to your expectations. We hope to welcome you back for another memorable adventure soon! Best, IR Experience

Avoid

Complete waste of time; AVOID - they don’t turn up. We are on a cruise; two weeks before the trip I messaged to confirm pick up point and was told yes it would be the cruise port at 830. We arrived early and waited until 9 before attempting to contact the tour operator to see where they were - no one replied to any messages and the telephone number given wouldn’t connect. Eventually and only via Viator help chat did Viator manage to get hold of the tour company. Despite me confirming our pick up point well beforehand they’d gone to a wrong pick up point! No attempt to contact me; no trying the correct pickup point, even if they’d been a bit delayed we could have lived with that; no apology; no chance to re-schedule; do we believe their excuse? Advice is stay clear of this trip. In the end we booked on spec a trip from the guys touting in the port main building, called Wave Runners, and had a fantastic day with them exploring St Lucia by speedboat and taxi.

Response from the operator: Hello Andrew, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We regret to learn about your experience and the frustration caused on the day of your tour. We understand how important clear pickup arrangements are, particularly for guests visiting on a cruise schedule. We would appreciate the opportunity to review this further. Kindly reach out to our Customer Support team at customersupport@islandroutes.com with your booking details so we can investigate the matter in more detail. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Best, IR Experience

Island Adventures tour is...

Island Adventures tour is top notch! Not only do you get to be in a safari jeep and see a waterfall and walk through the rainforest. They immerse you into the culture with trying the local fruits, telling us about the history of the island, and give a warm Saint Lucia island welcome. Disha was our tour guide and she treated us like family the whole trip. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day with our family of 8! Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Hello Crystal, Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your family had a perfect day exploring the island and enjoying the rainforest, waterfalls, and local culture. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to our team. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable adventure! Best, IR Experience

Set expectations with driver at start, still may not meet your expectations

Didn’t match the description or what we expected, plus ended early. Wish we had spent the money on a different tour or just stayed at the resort. Brought back to resort an hour early, driver didn’t know anything about touring Soufrière, which we were looking forward to and only drove quickly through. I blame the tour group, not the driver. See photos, for description when you consider the tour. But, doesn’t seem to be what is told to the driver. He really seemed to have no idea about being supposed to stop in the capital for us to explore or the end time of 4 pm, not 3 pm. We did see the mud baths; you can’t go in the actual mud baths, they are too hot and you would be burned. There is plenty of mud obtained from them, that you put on yourself. You then wash it off in the pools. Our driver didn’t well, explaining the difference of the 3 pools, taking pictures, and getting parking close to them. The waterfall was very pretty; we didn’t go in because of how obviously cold other people were, when they went in the water. But, we were glad we saw it. Lunch was delicious. We stopped at a restaurant called The Beacon; it was buffet style, with many options to choose. You could go back for as much as you want, but we found our first time filled us. The view was amazing; I’m surprised they haven’t turned it in to some set of meditation resort. We found a definite mismatch between the description and our tour. The tour group should change the description or update the drivers on the description of the tour.

Response from the operator: Hello Caesar, Thank you for sharing your experience. We regret to hear the tour didn’t match your expectations. Feel free to send us an email to customersupport@islandroutes.com for us to do an in depth review into your specific experience. Thank you again for your helpful review, and we hope to welcome you on a better experience in the future. Best, IR Experience

A Wonderful Rainforest Adventure for Families!

I recently went on a rainforest hike with Island Routes in St Lucia with my seven-year-old son, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We were in excellent hands with our driver JoJo, our knowledgeable guide Chrissie, and the incredibly kind Mr Branch, a local forester who joined us on the hike. JoJo was a true professional, carefully navigating the winding mountain roads and dodging potholes with skill and ease. Chrissie brought the island to life with fascinating facts about St Lucia’s history, culture, and nature, all shared with great enthusiasm and a warm sense of humour. A special mention must go to Mr Branch, who went above and beyond by helping my son cross the river safely – his care and patience were truly appreciated. The hike itself was beautiful and engaging; we learned about various plant species, tasted herbs and fruits straight from nature, and even had a refreshing dip in the cool waters beneath a waterfall. We also made a brief but lovely stop in the charming town of Anse La Raye, which added a local flavour to the day. This tour was both educational and fun – perfect for families and nature lovers alike. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting St Lucia!

Response from the operator: Hello Steve, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review of your rainforest hike with us. It’s always wonderful to know that our team helped create a safe, engaging, and fun adventure. We’re especially happy to hear the tour was both educational and enjoyable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another Island Routes experience in the future! Best, IR Experience

Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Choc.

How much does Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries cost?

+

Prices start at $112 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Choc usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries take?

+

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Choc is not rushed.

Is Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Choc, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Choc can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Choc and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Rainforest Hike & Waterfall Safari St. Lucia From Castries start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Choc within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Choc?

+

On Outty we rank every Choc experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include St Lucia Diamond Mineral and Mud Baths Plus Waterfall Adventure, Rainforest Hike and Waterfall Safari, St. Lucia Land and Sea Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Choc?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Choc?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
