Fabulous Tour
We had the best time on our Rainforest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary tour! From start to finish, it an unforgettable experience. The hike to Rio Celeste Waterfall was beautiful, and seeing sloths in there natural habitat was a special treat. Our driver and tour guide, Sergio, was excellent. He was incredibly personable, funny, and made the entire day so enjoyable. We shared so many laughs! At the same time, he was very knowledgeable and provided fascinating insight into Costa Rica and its beautiful “pura vida” way of life. We truly had a fabulous time and would highly recommend our guide Sergio and this tour to anyone visiting Costa Rica. It was a highlight of our trip!

Best guide for spotting wildlife & truly cares his guests experience is extraordinary!
Anthony is amazing in every way. He is friendly, attentive and well educated in Costa Rica’s wildlife and culture. His ability to spot animals is extraordinary. If seeing wildlife is important to you, look no further. We saw Toucan and several sloths, howler monkeys, iguanas, pit vipers, many beautiful birds and more. His lunch spot is delicious and has an attached butterfly 🦋 house with a lovely tour with the founder included. His sloth sanctuary tour is another beautiful rain forest area to hike and snacks were out at the outdoor restaurant which was roasting cocoa and coffee on site. We also hiked to the beautiful Celeste waterfall! We highly recommend Anthony!!!

Amazing Day at Rio Celeste & Sloth Sanctuary – Ask for Sergio!
Our tour of Rio Celeste waterfall and the Sloth Sanctuary was absolutely incredible! The scenery alone was breathtaking — the turquoise blue water of the waterfall looks even more magical in person — but what truly made the experience exceptional was our guide, Sergio. Sergio was beyond knowledgeable, sharing fascinating details about Costa Rica, the rainforest, flora and fauna and the wildlife. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and cares deeply about the environment and conservation. At the sloth sanctuary we had another tour guide lead us through the jungle and Jean Carlo spotted animals we never would have noticed on our own — from tiny frogs and birds to sleepy sloths tucked high in the trees. He took the time to explain everything with enthusiasm. After the jungle walk we had a delicious Casado lunch and had the company of the family pups Mya and Ginger in the little cafe on the property. The whole day felt effortless, well-organized, and full of those “wow” moments you’ll never forget. If you’re visiting Costa Rica, this tour is an absolute must — and if you can, ask for Sergio and Jean Carlo, they will make your adventure both fun and unforgettable! A huge thank you to Dixon, the tour operator, for organizing everything so smoothly and making sure every detail was taken care of. The day ran perfectly from start to finish.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much. Your comment makes us feel fulfilled and motivates us to continue growing as professionals.

Fun, adventurous experience, sprinkled with facts and knowledge.
I think the most memorable part of our trip was our guide Dixon, very knowledgeable about plant life and animals took the time to explain every part of our journey, and was extremely friendly and helpful. It took three hours to arrive at our destination and Dixon made our trip feel like a fun ride with a family friend just a great overall experience. 10 out of 10 would do it again.
Response from the operator: Thank You Chris! I hope you're doing great! Pura Vida

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Hermosa.
How much does Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary cost?
+
Prices start at $131 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Hermosa usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Hermosa is not rushed.
Is Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Hermosa, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Hermosa can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Hermosa and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rain forest Adventure to Rio Celeste Waterfall & Sloth Sanctuary start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Hermosa within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Hermosa?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Hermosa experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sloth Wildlife Experience, Coffee, Chocolate & Waterfall, Guachipelin Adventure Volcano Zipline River Tubing Combo, Adventure in Volcano Combo Tour! - Zip Line, Waterfall, Hot Springs and More. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Hermosa?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Hermosa?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
