Fair or Not?
I think the experience is worth it but my guide spoke almost no English! At first stop I paid entrance fee of 5.00 to enter museum which I paid and the museum was fascinating- here a museum guide takes you through the museum explain headhunting, Amazon peoples, etc. At second museum I again was asked to pay the museum entrance fee AND pay for parking!!!’ No way!!!!! This tour company charged me an exorbitant amount of 130 usd for this tour only to pay the operator’s parking!!! I had had enough and spoke with manager who said I would get a refund. Later that day I did receive a refund for half the tour cost, 65usd. The tour company’s name is: Tourexpress and Trasfers
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that parts of your experience did not meet your expectations. As indicated in our tour description, entrance fees to museums and attractions are not included in the tour price, as this allows guests to choose which sites they wish to visit. In some cases, certain entrances may be covered; however, since the tour could not be completed as planned, those visits did not take place. Regarding the language aspect, we are truly sorry that the level of English provided during your tour did not fully meet your expectations. When you expressed your concerns, you requested a partial refund. We contacted Viator, who confirmed that the refund percentage was at our discretion. Since approximately half of the tour had already been completed, we considered a 50% refund fair and reasonable and processed it the same day. We also offered to cover your museum entrances so you could continue the tour, but you preferred to return to your hotel instead. This was a private tour, not a group service, and our rates reflect the standard market range for private guided tours in the region. We always do our best to provide solutions during the tour so our guests can fully enjoy the experience. Unfortunately, in this case it was not possible to continue with the original plan, although we are glad that we were able to reach an amicable resolution. In over seven years of operating, situations like this have been extremely rare. Even so, your feedback helps us to continue improving the clarity of our information and the alternatives we offer our guests.

A fantastic tour
Jorge was an excellent guide and it was very pleasant spending the day with him. He was very knowledgeable about Quito and all the different sites we visited throughout the day. I was able to take my time at each location and take as many photos as I wanted and never felt rushed to move to the next destination. I would highly recommend Jorge and If I am ever back in Quito I would definitely go on a tour with him again!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌟 I’m very glad you enjoyed your day exploring Quito at your own pace — sharing the history and beauty of the city with you was a real pleasure. I truly appreciate your recommendation and would be delighted to welcome you again whenever you return to Quito! 🙏📸

Everything went smooth. Great experience.
We were 12 people with one day in Quito and wanted to see many things. They did a great job to move us around d efficiently from our Hotel to the Teleferico, to lunch at Fiambres, the to Middle of the World and then a visit to the old city for a quick visit of the city and an artisanal chocolate tasting. Vanessa and Jorge were great. We would use them again without hesitation. 👍👍
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We’re glad to know everything went smoothly and that we were able to help your group make the most of your day in Quito, visiting so many highlights efficiently and comfortably. We’re especially happy to hear your kind words about Vanessa and Jorge—we’ll be sure to share your feedback with them. Thank you for choosing TourExpress & Transfers. We would be happy to assist you again anytime.

Knowledgeable, Efficient, Friendly
This was slightly outside the ordinary: we had a full day planned at different points in Quito, and needed a flexible and knowledgeable transportation option. Jorge was all of that and more. Super kind and thoughtful, great at explaining things along the way, always able to find good parking (not easy in Quito), always easy to find when we were done with each activity. Of course he was on time and the car was immaculate. Strongly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind and detailed review. We’re delighted to know that our flexible and personalized service met your needs during a full and varied day in Quito. Providing knowledgeable guidance, smooth logistics, and a comfortable experience—especially in a busy city—is something we take great pride in. Thank you for your strong recommendation and for choosing TourExpress & Transfers. It was a pleasure assisting you, and we hope to welcome you again in the future.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.
How much does Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day cost?
+
Prices start at $215 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.
Is Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Quito City Tour & Mitad del Mundo – Private Full Day start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quito?
+
On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi Volcano full day tour with all the entrances, every day, Cotopaxi Full-Day from Quito Including Entrances, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quito?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quito?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
