I am a Samira tourist guide based in Mombasa, I do walking tours, Fort Jesus, Old town ,spice market, Elephant tusk's Hindu temple, l Mombasa walking tour, History about Fort Jesus was built by the Portuguese in 1593 and taken over by Oman Arab in 1698 and then British took over 1895. Old town Mombasa is mixed culture when walking you will see the old wooden balcony and narrow streets in the Old town also you will enjoy seeing Oman carving doors and making your tour comfortable. I speak sign language too therefore I care for the people with disability and also I offer cooking classes for local foods which were there in the year 90s where the foods cannot be found in restaurants.A tourists books this on an extra cost of 50euros per person and it promotes women since they are the employees in Quasar's Kitchen

Fort Jesus Museum
This is a historical site which includes the history of the Portuguese,arabs and British.This place has 17 places that the traveller will see which includes:captains house,passage of the arches,passage of the steps,escape root,watch tower,kitchen,museum,Portuguese chapel,barracks,mosque,Oman well,water tank,skeleton of a whale and human and Oman house.The entrance fee is 1200 Kenya shillings which the traveller will pay using M-pesa,this is an application which allows transfer of money but if the tourist does not have it he or she can give me the cash and I will pay for him or her.On top of entrance we have 100 Kenya shillings to be added because of transaction amount.This gives a total of 1300.This place is safe and the tourist will enjoy the history of this place.Fort Jesus was built on a coral rock beside the Indian ocean since Mombasa is an Island.It also has natural Air Condition at some point I mean nice breeze from the ocean.In this place we will just walk and enjoy the history.

Mombasa Tusks
The tasks were first built in 1952 to welcome queen Elizabeth for the first time she visited Mombasa. The first material was wood and later on the government of Kenya decided to change it and make it in aluminium for it to last for a longer period of time.The tasks are two bringing in letter M meaning Mombasa,so today this is the land mark of Mombasa.The tourists do come to this place and take pictures proving that they are in Mombasa.Here tourists will enjoy the history and take as many pictures as they want.Next to the elephant tasks there is a garden called Uhuru garden meaning freedom.Before Kenya got independence locals used to go in the garden and talk everything bad about the British but they could not be arrested.Immediately they step out of the garden and talk anything bad about the British they will be arrested so it is still a freedom area until today where people move freely.The place is also know for a lot of bats which are on top of the trees making them hang upside down.

At this place the tourist will enjoy the history and the view of the Indian Ocean. This place was first under the Portuguese and it was called baobab garden as it used to have so many baobab trees. It still has some baobabs and the locals make some natural candies from this,the tourist will have a chance to see the candies and also taste if interested.This place has a tunnel that heads to Fort Jesus Museum.Here there was a governor appointed by the King Victoria by the British.His favourite place of worship the five daily prayers was Mbaraki mosque later on he established a pillar called Mbaraki pillar to date.Near Mbaraki pillar there are war memorial graveyard of first world war and second world war.Opposite the cemetery there is a Little Theatre where doctors were and it's where the casualties of the first world war and second world war were treated.To the modern day the current place where Mbaraki war graves are located still retains the name Mbaraki estate.Mombasa is Cosmopolitan.

Opened in 1914, MacKinnon Market has passed through the test of time. Upon request at the market manager’s office located in the building, any visitor will be shown photographs taken by one Salim M Nasher of how the building looked when it was new. With its archaic walls and iron-rail windows, the finishing and outside look was done to make it stand out in a location that had Swahili form of finishing in most homes. A mast inside the building has a plaque that traces much of the building materials from Bristol, in the United Kingdom. According to a trader who has been operating at the market since 1960s, the building and its surroundings was more organized and beautiful than it is currently. This place today is well known for spices as the people of Mombasa like spicy foods.It has so many spices which the traveller will see and taste them and also buy if interested.This place has a lot of locals as they visit it for their shopping since they also sell some vegetables and appetisers .

Old Town Walking Tour
Old Town is an area of Mombasa, Kenya. Situated on the south-east side of Mombasa Island, the Old Town covers an area of 72 hectares (180 acres), and is inhabited by a mix of Swahili, Arab, Asian, Portuguese and British settlers. In 1997, the Old Town and Fort Jesus were submitted by the National Museums of Kenya for selection in UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites. This place has some attractions which includes: Mombasa Club,which was the first club to be built in Kenya by the British since 1897 of which only men used to be allowed inside and women used to wait for their husbands in a library just beside the entrance and this is only for members. The first post office of Kenya which the locals used to receive letters from the boxes. Africa hotel which was the first hotel in Kenya and it stated with twelve rooms in 1901 but today it is a high school Mazuri graveyard since 1715 of which only mazuri family living in the old town can bury here.
