The most famous structure by far at Saqqara is Djoser’s Step Pyramid. Dating from the 3rd dynasty (2667—2448 BC), it was the first all-stone complex ever built on earth. It also displays an important architectural innovation for the construction of the Giza Pyramids and other later pyramids in the 4th dynasty and later. Djoser’s pyramid was the first to use multiple mastabas (rectangular tomb structures) stacked on top of one another to form a step pyramid. This construction set the stage for the smooth sides of the Giza Pyramids and the smaller 5th and 6th dynasty pyramids that are found at Saqqara and other sites nearby, such as Dahshur and Abu Sir

    Amazing Private Tour Experience

We had an amazing experience on our private day trip in Cairo! The company reached out shortly after booking to confirm all the details, which made everything easy and stress-free. Our driver arrived right on time at our Airbnb, and our guide was incredibly informative, helpful, and patient throughout the day. We were given plenty of time at each location to explore, take photos, and really enjoy the sites without ever feeling rushed or pressured. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’d absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cairo!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much , you're a champ :)

    Great day to remember!

This wasn't my first time to visit the Pyramids but it was my first time with my gf so i wanted to make sure that the tour will be amazing and full of great memories together! the driver and guide arrived just on time to our hotel and we started in the early morning so we won't miss any sight! weather in Cairo is great now..like 20C. but still it's Sunny:) our guide speaks very good English with too much knowledge about Egyptian history. traffic is Cairo is something you'll experience by your own so get ready! was amazing to get inside the great pyramids itself(you'll wait in line and pay extra ticket for that) but it's worthy! after visiting the pyramids we had a stop for Lunch in Egyptian style which was amazing.then we finished the tour by visiting Memphis which is a small museum has very unique sleeping statue of the famous Ramses King. we would love to thanks our driver Moe and Guide Sam for making our day unforgettable:)

Response from the operator: Welcome Home “Thank-you for taking the time to leave a review. Your family was a lot of fun. You were a champ! It was a pleasure showing you around.”

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Giza?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
