Terrible User Experience and Incompetent Messaging System — Avoid!
I booked an expensive tour through the Viator app while traveling to Malaysia from the US, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. The app itself is terribly designed and full of glitches: Glitchy & Slow Messaging: The texting feature in the app is painfully slow. To make matters worse, the keyboard constantly covered the text input field, so I couldn't even see what I was typing. No Media Sharing: You cannot upload photos or attachments in the chat—something essential when trying to send a picture of your exact location or pickup spot to a guide. Out-of-Touch Communication: Viator caters to international tourists, yet their platform relies on standard phone calls instead of modern messaging apps like WhatsApp. Since I have a US phone number, I couldn't call a Malaysian number (and vice versa). When stuck in Kuala Lumpur’s heavy traffic, the local operator texted me a number to call to update my status—a total waste of time and energy when international calling isn't an option. To top it all off, the app up-sells hotel pickup and drop-off during checkout, but after you pay, you receive a text saying they actually won't pick up or drop off at your specific hotel. Between the broken app interface, poor communication options for foreign travelers, and misleading pickup options, I will never use Viator again. Save yourself the stress and book through a better platform. The tour provider company was amazing!!!!

Not a good tour
Batu caves was a fun experience. The tour guide either didn’t speak much English or didn’t feel like explaining much to us, because he basically took us from one place to the next without explaining anything and telling us he needed to take a picture of us. We figured that this was to prove he took us everywhere he was supposed to. It literally was, “ok, get out and see and I take your picture and then we go.” He was such a bad tour guide and while we saw lots of places, we know nothing about them.

This is a perfect tour if you are having a short stay in KL. You will see a lot of sights and always have the a/c car around. The driver was helpful and service minded.

Wonderful day in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur
This is an exciting tour. It is hard to believe that it is possible to thoroughly explore two cities in one day. Our driver Kartik was very nice and professional. He showed us all places of interest mentioned in the tour description and made numerous photos of us in the most picturesque places. We would highly recommend this tour if you spend only several days in Kuala Lumpur but wish to see as much as possible.

Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuala Lumpur.
How much does Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuala Lumpur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuala Lumpur is not rushed.
Is Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuala Lumpur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuala Lumpur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuala Lumpur and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Putrajaya, Batu Caves And Kuala Lumpur Full-day City Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuala Lumpur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur?
+
On Outty we rank every Kuala Lumpur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Genting Highland & Batu Cave Guided Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour), Kuala Lumpur Grand Full Day Guided Tour with 25 Attractions (SIC), Kuala Lumpur Suburbs Batu Caves Half-Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kuala Lumpur?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
