Don’t waste your money on this! No lunch or drinks. No “history” on the city. Driver did not speak English so could not communicate with us. Basically was a taxi that took us to 3 Souvenir stores and an overpriced mall for $400 for 3 people.

I highly recommend the private tour. You can customize how much time you spend at each stop, e.g. less time in Downtown Punta Cana. The lunch was spectacular! Ismael was a great tour guide! You should request him!

    SCAM

SCAM! I was contacted via What's App by 849-520-0320 asking for an additional $100 claiming it is for the taxi driver while at the beach. The listing on Tripadvisor says the beach time is included. If you need more money for this service then increase the price on Tripadvisor. There are people who can and will pay it. The whole point of booking through Tripadvisor is to ensure a safe and fun experience while in a new country. Booking a tour then being asked to pay more money feels bad and disappointing. So I canceled the excursion.

Response from the operator: Good evening, this client has never taken the tours with us. We write to you only to confirm your tours, like all clients.

Decent but not worth the price

It was ok. The group was small and nice vehicle. The time listed at each stop is not correct. We spent 5 minutes at Macao and no place was longer than 30 to 40 minutes max. The driver was nice but in phone most of the time. And they never sent the email confirming pick up time or details. I had to hint them down the night before. However all of this seems pretty typical with any excursions in Pubta Cana. The best part was the lunch. Food was very good it's not worth the cost though. Should be half of the listed price.

    Not as advertised

We’ve been on many excursions and traveled to several amazing countries, and unfortunately, this was the worst experience we’ve had. Our guide arrived about 40 minutes late. We understand that traffic happens, so we tried to be flexible. At the first stop, a different driver showed up to take us to the next location and told us he didn’t speak English. That was frustrating, as this was supposed to be a cultural tour where communication with the guide is important. When we arrived at the next stop, our original guide rejoined us. We asked about the drinks that were listed as included in the tour, and he told us he had forgotten them. Again, we tried to brush it off. At the following stop, it was pouring rain, and he had also forgotten the umbrellas. During the van rides, instead of learning about the area, we listened to him argue on the phone about personal matters, which made the experience uncomfortable. Lunch itself was fantastic, but we were surprised to be charged $11 USD for a soda, despite drinks being advertised as included. That felt misleading. On the ride back to the resort, the phone arguments continued. Overall, the tour felt unprofessional, disorganized, and uncomfortable. It sounded like it would be a great experience, but unfortunately, it fell far short of expectations.

Response from the operator: buenas tarde su mesaje esta ciendo reportado

Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave, Small Group Buggy Tour to Water Cave and Macao Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Punta Cana City Tour with Macao Beach, Dominican Lunch & Shopping?

    +

Included: Carbonated beverages; Bottled water; Lunch; In-vehicle air conditioning; and Guide. Not included: Tips. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
