    It's was just OK

There wasn't any mud for the buggy ride but we were told to purchase face coverings. They showed pics of muddy people and we barely had any mud at all. Total waste of purchase. Every stop we had workers hounding us to buy their stuff. I wasn't given a heads up about this and didn't bring extra money. When we returned the buggy's after the tour Viator didn't have us scheduled for the Catamaran boat cruise at all. Which was part of the tour. We had to come back the next day to do that. I only give this your a 2-3 stars. Not very happy about how the day went.

Response from the operator: Thank you for reaching out and providing your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not entirely meet your expectations. Regarding the face coverings for the buggy ride, we understand your frustration about the lack of mud. While the face coverings are recommended for mud, they also serve as protection against dust, debris, and other potential airborne particles encountered along the trail. Our guides consistently inform our guests about these possibilities as part of the preparation for the journey. Concerning the encounters with vendors at our stops, we appreciate your feedback. Our guides do inform guests about the local artisans and vendors they might meet at public stops like Macao Beach and the Taina Cave. We understand that this aspect of the tour can be surprising, and we are always looking for ways to ensure our guests feel comfortable and informed throughout their experience. Regarding the Catamaran activity, we acknowledge the confusion and apologize for any inconvenience. As explained, the adjustment in your schedule was made to accommodate the presence of children and ensure a suitable experience for all guests. We aim to communicate such changes clearly and promptly, and we regret any oversight in ensuring you were fully informed about this adjustment. Your feedback is invaluable to us in refining our services and ensuring our guests have enjoyable and well-informed experiences. If you have any more concerns or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out. Best regards,

    Dunne Buggy

The Dunne Buggies were very fun. But don't expect to not get dirty if it has previously been raining. The length of time to drive the Dunne Buggies was well worth the price. They should give written instructions on the items that you purchase during the excursions because you can easily forget once you return home. Overall a great excursion to purchase.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your feedback, We are glad to know you had a good time, yes most people use to get dirty when is raining but sometimes the road are dry and the puddles have no water. We hope see you again on raining season so you can get dirty..

Multiple sights seen/sometimes rushed excursion! Still recommend with everything you will do!

This was a GREAT group excursion!! My husband and I chose this as a group excursion for our wedding and we did SO much in a day it felt like a 72hr excursion! I will say, the first adventure (buggies) included driving the buggies around to the beach with GIANT waves, then to a typical house which had chocolate/green tea/ and mamajuana tasting, then swimming in a cave, and then driving back to leave the buggies. During the first adventure, it was veeeery rushed. For instance when we got to the first beach, we were told to swim for 20 minutes to then head to the house (roughly 35 min there), and cave swimming (20min) but you did drive your own buggy the entire time. The second adventure included getting on a party boat that included snorkeling (20 min) then driving to a “natural pool” where we swam, drank the included rum and coke/beer, and even sliding down the boat slide. We were confused on the second adventure because we were told we were getting dropped at our hotel and being picked up by a different driver. We were dropped off at our lobby and our driver for the boat party was already there! So definitely check for pick up times for BOTH adventures and let them know your ETA. Even though the first part was rushed, we did a lot for one day and having a big group definitely makes it even more fun! Definitely an excursion for “half glass full” individuals 😆

Response from the operator: We infinitely appreciate your comment and it makes us feel proud to know that your time with us was of great benefit, thank you for allowing us to be part of your vacation, we hope to see you here soon.

Be prepared to just say No, gracias All Day long

Overall, we did enjoy the excursion but had we known what would befall us during the dune buggy tour, we would have skipped that part altogether. Why do you ask? The whole tour you are getting run up on by people and children trying to either sell you stuff or giving you a flower so that you are made to give them $. That drive to Maceo beach should have been skipped because the moment you walk on to the beach, you are BOMBARDED by vendors, men with monkeys and parrots trying to force the animals on you. There was only one other couple on the tour with us which was a man and his older mother and the minute she hit the beach, they pounced on her like fresh meat. She kept saying No, I don’t want to take a picture with the parrot, No, No! Oh but they took it anyway, charged her for it & attempted to just walk away. Her son had to stop them & make them send him the pic. So next stop, the cave with the pool. By this time, the say NO skills have been sharpened - getting to cave, you gotta walk through vendors & stores and they’re out waiting for you. We didn’t get in the water because we were afraid the water itself would try to hold us hostage until we fed it $. Next stop, Typico house where nice man gives you presentation on chocolate, coffee, oregano, mamajuana, coconut oil & it’s not because they want to teach you, it’s because they want you to buy it. So to be nice, we did buy a few things. Please note, they are selling mamajuana starting at like $21.00 & we see later it’s only $6.00 in the store at our resort. They take us back to our resort & I’ve heard no word from anyone about the catamaran portion so I start emailing & whats apping. It would be helpful if they would provide ALL the details proactively without my having to contact them myself. They do reply with pickup time which was in less than an hour. We get to Cap Cana beach/marina to get on our boat - oh but Wait! Not until waiting about 20 minutes in the vendor area where you of course are bombarded yet again! My husband and I were so aggravated by that time we just wanted to leave. We didn’t, so we got on the catamaran with the other guests that were picked up and actually did have a nice time! Please note, they play a lot of vulgar rap music as the crew are young & apparently think that’s what everyone in the world wants to hear. I kept trying to get up and ask the guy to please play some less offensive music but my husband told me to sit down & mind my business. Lol! The alcohol is included but it’s only beer & rum. They provide chips and salsa & cut up fruit and there was a guy cooking hotdogs, burgers & I think that was lobster. Burgers weren’t bad at all.

Response from the operator: thank you for leaving us your comment so detailed, first of all it is important to know that all that information about the sellers on the beach, cave and typical house are mentioned by the guide in the welcome information, as it says in the description of the website, the beach is a public area in which you have different types of sellers, that was also mentioned in the welcome information, no one can force you to buy. clearly as I mention the children on the street are not part of our staff so we can't do anything about it either, just ignore it as do all the clients we have daily, we are very sorry that you did not enjoyed as you expected, we recommend to double check the description on the website cause it have all the information on it. The open bar on the boat is local, if customers want special drink they have to bring their own, this trip if for adult so the music is for adult as well.

Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel cost?

    +

Prices start at $115 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Punta Cana Buggy + Cave Dip, Beach Swim + Party Boat & Snorkel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
