    This tour did not meet...

This tour did not meet expectations and did not include what was specified in the title. The listing is called “Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar,” but there was no snorkeling at any point. The atmosphere was more of a party boat with loud music, including a mix of pop, reggaeton, and dance music. To be fair, it was not hip-hop music, so that may align with expectations since we did not book the hip-hop version of the tour. The boat itself was older and had some maintenance issues. For example, there were no ladders to climb back onto the boat during the swimming portion. And to be clear, this was just swimming, not snorkeling, and no snorkeling equipment or activity was offered. The description also mentioned nachos, which would have been a more substantive snack than the light fruit that was available. The fruit was good, but since the tour started at 11:30 a.m. and overlapped with lunchtime, it was noticeable that the crew brought their own takeout meals on board while there was very little food offered to guests. This might suggest that the tour should be priced slightly higher and include a proper lunch. I’m rating it 3 out of 5, rather than lower, because it was still a decent value overall. The transfer was included, and the staff was friendly across the board, from the driver to the crew to the check-in team. That said, they should deliver what is advertised. I’ve taken a similar tour recently and did receive what was promised, so this was a disappointment this time.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback, Brian. We are sorry that the experience did not fully meet your expectations, and we would like to clarify a few points. The snorkeling activity was not operated that day due to unsafe sea conditions. Guests were informed that the swell made snorkeling unsuitable, and the decision was taken exclusively for everyone’s safety. When ocean conditions are not appropriate, safety must always come first. Regarding the food, this is our standard boat experience, which includes the advertised snacks: nachos with cheese and a tropical fruit platter. A full lunch is not included in this particular package, although we do offer upgraded and VIP options with more extensive food service. Apart from the snorkeling cancellation caused by the sea conditions, the remaining services were provided, including transportation, open bar, swimming time, music and assistance from our crew. We are pleased that you found our driver, check-in staff and onboard team friendly. We appreciate your comments and have shared them with our operations team as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the experience and ensure that all inclusions are delivered as clearly and consistently as possible.

    Amazing !!

Had a little private photoshoot on the boat which we loved and bought, snorkelling was amazing and the crew kept dropping bread so fish would come. Then had a perfect walk along a little island where we learnt how to crack open coconuts from the photographer (this wasn’t part of the experience but we just got chatting with the photographer and wanted to show us). Would definitely do this again :)

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your great review! We’re happy you enjoyed the photoshoot, snorkeling, and the island experience Hope to see you again soon! 🌊

    This catamaran experience...

This catamaran experience was great. Only drawback was the transfer from shore to boat which was quite the experience, but after that it was a great time !

Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the catamaran experience and had a great time on board ⛵🌊 We appreciate your feedback about the transfer and will take it into account to improve for future guests.

    Solo party boat

Only me and my partner on the boat today and my god we had the BEST day! The staff onboard were so attentive and welcoming. We stopped at a snorkelling spot, then went to see the dolphins/sharks at a natural habitat and then went onto the natural swimming pool. Couldn’t fault the staff. Even though there was only 2 of us, we had the best time! Just be careful of the extra costs when it comes to the swimming pool, a guy came over and put a monkey/parrot on my head, took pictures on MY PHONE and tried to charge us 300 dollars. Ended up pulling up down to 90 pound. Crazy. But aside from that we had the best day!!!! Thank you so much. X

Response from the operator: hank you so much for your lovely review! We're thrilled to hear you and your partner had such a special and relaxing day with us. Our crew always strives to make each experience unforgettable, no matter the group size and we're so glad you felt that personal touch. 😊 We also really appreciate your feedback about the situation at the natural pool. Those vendors are independent from our team, but we always do our best to warn guests in advance to be cautious with unexpected charges. (By the way, for those looking for a high-energy party boat experience, we also offer a separate tour called “Punta Cana Party Boat and Open Bar (Adults only)” feel free to check it out!) Thanks again for choosing us, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime! 💙⛵🐠

Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar cost?

    +

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Punta Cana Boat Cruise and Snorkeling with Open Bar start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
