Depending on the location from your port, the transfer to the ranch takes approximately 20–35 minutes. Along the way, you’ll pass through the city, the beach boulevard and the local villages and can see the authentic live of the dominicans, before arriving at the ranch, where our friendly staff will welcome you. After receiving your safety helmet, we’ll take a short 5-minute drive to the meeting point, where you’ll meet your personal guide. Your guide will give you basic instructions on how to handle and ride your horse and will select the horse that best matches your experience and comfort level. Then the adventure begins! We start our ride through beautiful tropical nature and scenic trails, making our way toward the beach.

Along the beautiful natural shoreline, you’ll ride your horse while enjoying the refreshing sea breeze and the relaxing sound of the waves. The peaceful surroundings make this part of the ride truly unforgettable. The ride got split in two parts. During the ride, we’ll take a short break, see the next point.

We have the break at the small local Bar/ Restaurant directly at the beach and we ride in the sea with the horses, relax, enjoy the scenery, and take some memorable photos. A very special en unique experience.

Need for repetition!!
A really beautiful tour and a great experience. The route along the coast was beautiful and the horses were super. Everything was well organized and the guides were friendly and attentive. Especially the horseback riding on the beach was a highlight and afterwards we ate delicious food on the beach before the tour continued..We definitely want to come back!

For several years, I have been riding at Rancho Montecarlo every year during my vacation. It is the highlight of my vacation every time. Regardless of whether it is a beach or backcountry tour, it is fun every time with the great horses and the super team. Dreamy horseback ride in Puerto Plata – A true heartfelt highlight!
We booked this excursion during our cruise stop and were absolutely thrilled from the very first minute! The organization was perfectly tailored to our ship's schedule from start to finish. What was particularly important to us and immediately stood out to us in a positive way: The horses are beautiful, top-groomed, and excellently equipped. You can immediately tell how much love, respect, and care goes into this team – animal welfare is truly a top priority at this ranch! The ride through nature and along the dreamy Caribbean coast was simply breathtaking. The absolute highlight for us was going into the sea with the horses and swimming in the water – an indescribable moment that we will never forget!! Our guides were super warm, attentive, and took great care of each of us, whether beginner or experienced rider. To then let the excursion wind down in a relaxed way with delicious food at the local beach restaurant made the day perfect. Many thanks to the entire team for this beautiful and authentic experience!❤️ We would book the tour again anytime!!!!

I arrived in Puerto Plata on a cruise through Taino Bay and decided to book this horseback riding tour. Honestly, it exceeded my expectations and ended up being one of my favorite activities during our stop. I especially want to thank Sandra, our guide. From the very beginning, she was friendly, fun, and always made sure everyone felt comfortable. You can tell she genuinely enjoys what she does, and that made a huge difference in the experience. She explained everything clearly and made us feel like we were exploring the area with a local friend. The horses were calm, well-behaved, and easy to ride, even for people with little or no horseback riding experience. They also looked healthy and well cared for, which was great to see. During the ride, we got to enjoy beautiful scenery, the beach, and the natural beauty of Puerto Plata, making the experience even more memorable. Everything was very well organized, from the pickup to the return to the port. The entire staff was friendly and professional, and we never felt rushed at any point. If you’re arriving in Puerto Plata on a cruise and looking for something different to do, I definitely recommend this tour. I had an amazing time, took some great photos, and made wonderful memories.
