    Magic morning at lions head

It is hard to find companies who will always assist a solo traveller, so I was so glad I found Path and Peak. My guide Rob was excellent, super knowledgeable and safety conscious. And booking and organising details was easy. Thank you for a magic morning on the mountain

Response from the operator: Thanks for your review Megan. I've been a solo traveler myself and so it's a pleasure to be able to give back. Glad you had a great time with Rob and hope to see you again! Cheers, Nick

    Amazing views! (Lions Head hike)

Booked the Lion's Head hike for a group from work. Nick is a quick responder to emails and he gives great information beforehand. On the day itself unfortunately i wasn't able to join due to an injury but all my co workers raved about the hike and the wonderful guides Nick appointed. Some found it a little challenging to reach the top but the guides all safely got them there so they could do their group shot! "Amazing views" is the remark i heard the most. Must do when in Cape Town!

Response from the operator: Hey Cecile, thanks so much for your lovely review! I so appreciate it and I'm glad that we could provide a great team building experience for your work group. Until next year :) All the best, Nick

Path & Peak guided Lion's head hike

Initial communication was prompt, clear and very informative. Nick was really helpful and arranged everything with speed and ease to me. As a female solo traveller I was very nervous so wanted to arrange a guided hike and starting before sunrise I wanted to feel safe. My guide Rob completely put me at ease as soon as I met with him :-) Rob is such a nice guy, a fountain of knowledge and has a great energy. He taught me a lot about SA & gave me some good life hacks in general lol It rained on our first attempt so we couldn't complete the hike but Nick & Rob were very accommodating to ensure they got my to the summit before I departed SA! I really appreciated that as it was on my list and I really wanted to get up to see the great views of Cape Town. I will absolutely be using Path & Peak for any future bookings when I am back in Cape Town. Great service, value for money, friendly, just spot on in all aspects.

    Lion's head sunrise hike

I had an amazing time on a guided hike up lion's head with path and peak adventures. My guide Nick Rocke was very friendly and informative and a pleasure to hike with,i would thoroughly recommend a hike up lion's head its an awesome experience and path and peak adventures make it even more special.

Response from the operator: Hey Christine! Ah, where to begin? I can genuinely say that you were one of the most relaxing people to hike with since Path & Peak's inception. I felt super comfortable and chilled hiking with you. When I don't feel the need to fill all the moments of silence is when I know there's a good dynamic. You were also very tenacious and displayed some rather impressive climbing skills. I think you're also a first with your 3 tours booked in 2 weeks, amazing! Thanks again for being such a team player and please, please give me a shout when you're (definitely) back again. All the best, Nick :)

Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.

How much does Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town cost?

    +

Prices start at R 3,000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.

Is Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape Town?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Hike Table Mountain or Lions Head in Cape Town Like a Local, Cape Point and Boulder's Penguins Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Town?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town?

    +

Included: Private transportation; Bottled water; Snacks; Professional mountain guide; and Safety equipment where needed. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 29 listed pickup locations in and around Cape Town. Be ready about 5 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town offered in?

    +

It is offered in German and English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

What happens to Privately Guided Lion’s Head Hike in Cape Town if the weather is bad?

    +

This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
