    About this experience

**Private boat tour for up to 6 people.** Larger group? Call for options. Escape the crowds and join us on 2-hour private whale watching cruise you won’t soon forget. Want to see some whales? Come find them with us. We can cover more ground in our whale watching adventures because we can go farther and faster than other tour boats, ensuring that you get a good look at these graceful giants. From the east side to the west side, we can reach the entire southern coast of Oahu on this trip. Because this is a private charter, the experience is fully customizable and the adventure is up to you! *Whales are wild animals in their natural environment. They do not keep an organized schedule, and therefore we obviously cannot guarantee that we will find them during your scheduled tour. We will do our best, however, and our best is better than most. We usually succeed in finding them.

    Whales!

Very fun adventure! Boat is great, captain is very nice, whales are breathtaking! Video of our adventure was a cherry on top! Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Mahalo for sharing!

    Whale-watching at its best!

Five of us had a great adventure on the water with Capt. Chris and Josh in the tiny but mighty RHIB! We were able to move quickly and efficiently to wherever the humpback whales were sighted. Because of this flexibility, we were able to have more encounters with whales than most other boats that took longer to maneuver near the whales. The experience of being closer to the water was exhilarating! We always stayed a respectful distance from the whales, unlike some other tour providers we saw. Chris and Josh were personable and fun to spend the 2 hours with! The best things about this tour is that we did not have to share the railing of a large boat with one hundred other people, and we received an excellent video from Chris of a whale we saw closely as it passed under our boat!

Response from the operator: Tiny but mighty! Love that. Mahalo for joining us and for the kind words!

    A highlight of our trip!

Five of us took a great trip around the Waikiki area with Capt. Chris and Josh. With the RHIB, there was so music flexibility in moving quickly to where we spotted whales, and the guys were very personable and fun while keeping us safe. We all agreed that we would definitely take this trip again and recommend it highly!

Response from the operator: Mahalo Kimberly! Move fast, have fun, and stay safe is how we like to do it! See you guys next time!

    Excellent Whale Watching Charter

The Adventure Boat was awesome. We saw multiple whale breeches, turtles, a pod of dolphins and a monk seal. The crew was great and the private charter made it much more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Response from the operator: Mahalo for sharing! That baby humpback whale jumping was super cool! We're glad you guys had a great time!

    Amazing experience

We had an amazing time out on the water. The whales were being shy but Captain Chris was not going to give up until we saw one!

Response from the operator: Mahalo, Wendy! We never know what we're going to find when whale watching, but we'll always do our best to find some! So glad to hear you guys had a great time!

Private Whale Watching Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Private Whale Watching Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $831 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Whale Watching Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Private Whale Watching Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Whale Watching Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Whale Watching Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Whale Watching Adventure?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Whale Watching Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
