    Exceptional Brewery Tour with Kelvie

Booked a half-day tour and it was an absolute standout experience. Kelvie, our guide, was a total legend—he did a fantastic job pointing out all the local landmarks, which was incredibly helpful for us as first-time visitors to the area. We visited four breweries, and honestly, the quality was top-tier; it felt like each beer was even better than the last. If you're looking for great drinks and a knowledgeable guide who knows the local spots, I can't recommend this tour enough. Cheers to Kelvie for making it such a memorable afternoon!

Response from the operator: thanks for the great review Giuliana. Yes Kelvie definitely knows his craft beers - I'll pass on your feedback to him cheers John

    Lots of beer to try!!

Andrew was great- he took us to 3 breweries and gave us a beautiful drive around Wellington and all around the coast. Very knowledgeable about Wellington and New Zealand and the island bay.

Response from the operator: thanks Julie and glad you got to experience Welly and sample the breweries cheers John

    Great brewery tour day

We had a great time with Andrew on our Wellington Brewery tour. There was just the 2 of us with Andrew and he took us to 3 breweries. He was always up for a chat; was very informative about his hometown and the beers we were trying. He also took us around the waterfront, describing its history, a quick stop at Weta Workshop and then up to Mt Victoria for the view. we thoroughly recommend Andrew at Capital Personalised Tours for this private craft beer tour.

Response from the operator: Great to see you had a great afternoon sampling the local beers Sandra. Yes Andrew has a wealth of information to impart on both the city and it's breweries cheers John

    Recommended tour

This was a great tour of a few of the craft beer breweries around Wellington. As we were the only couple on the tour, it was more personalised for us and we could pick and choose where we wanted to visit. Our guide (so sorry but I have forgotten his name!) looked after us well and we had great conversation and enjoyed the stories shared. We really enjoyed sampling all the different kinds of beer on offer and we finished off with a traditional beer at a traditional pub. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

Response from the operator: thanks for the great review and I'll pass that feedback on to Kelvin who was your Guide for the day cheers John

Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Wellington.

How much does Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Wellington usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Wellington is not rushed.

Is Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Wellington, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Wellington can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Wellington and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Wellington Craft Beer Half Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Wellington within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Wellington?

    +

On Outty we rank every Wellington experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Overnight Experience Tour on Kapiti Island, Discover Wellington 3 hour City Tour, Martinborough Wine and Wild Coast Tour from Wellington. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Wellington?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Wellington?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
