Best food tour guide we could have asked for

We had such an amazing food tour with Sunny this evening on August 24th! She took us to all the places we would have wanted to discover on our own if we actually knew where to start with Vietnamese food. Everything we tried was delicious, authentic and where locals ate. what made the experience even better was how much Sunny taught us along the way. She explained the history and origins behind the different foods, answered all of our random questions, and gave us such a great introduction to Vietnamese culture. Beyond being a great tour guide, Sunny is genuinely such a kind, warm, and wonderful person. She made my family and me feel incredibly welcomed and gave us an experience we’ll remember as one of the highlights of our trip. If we ever come back to Vietnam, we would absolutely love to see her again. And Sunny, if you ever make it to America, we hope we can return the same hospitality you showed us here! Good luck with everything, Sunny, and thank you so much again for such a special evening. ❤️ We couldn’t recommend her enough :)

Excellent guide for a delicious food tour

Sunny was an amazing guide through the bustling streets of Hanoi. At every stop (there were a LOT), she gave us a bit of the history of the specific dish. All of the food was delicious and she was able to customize to the needs of the group. I highly highly recommend going on a tour with Sunny! Be prepared - things move fast in Hanoi, especially the traffic .

Response from the operator: Thank you so much! I’m really happy you enjoyed the food tour and exploring Hanoi with Sunny. Best wish for you🫶❤️

    Every Day is Sunny

We really enjoyed our time with Sunny. She’s a local and knows all of the best places to visit, as well as the best restaurants, coffee shops and places to shop. I very much appreciated the way we could stop somewhere and get coffee or take pictures and we were never late for anything scheduled or felt rushed. Apparently you can request her as a tour guide if you’re headed to Hanoi. I fully recommend that you do.

    100% Recommend

Sunny went above and beyond personalising this tour for us. Could not have asked for a better guide, not only a chance to try different foods but a tour of the old quarter was included, her knowledge of the area is fantastic, you will learn so much.

Response from the operator: That's a wonderful feedback that gave me lots of motivation. It was so nice to have the chance to meet you. Thank you so much for choosing my service and for being so kind to me 🫶 Wishing you all the best ❤️

Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi cost?

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Walking Food Tour in Hanoi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
