About this experience

Our Munich Food Tour dive head first into this unique food scene by sampling classic hearty dishes, delicious Bavarian spreads, exquisite homemade cakes and, of course the item that put our city on the map - BEER! A Munich Food Tour that goes beyond the classics: We want our guests to to experience Munich like a local by providing you with a range of flavour experiences, such as traditional fare like sausages, beer and fresh baked goods, as well as the new direction of Munich's modern gastronomy - featuring more international and fusion foods. Starting from the famous Viktualienmarkt Food Market (closed on Sunday), we take you on a journey through its famous food stalls, tasting some authentic local dishes, unique meats, and uncovering some unusual but tasty flavours at a fusion ice cream stand (depending on the season). Great intro into Munich food

The food tour was great! We went right from the airport and it was a great introduction into the food of Munich.

Response from the operator: Happy to hear that! We always love it when our tour is the first thing on the schedule for our guests because it's such a great way to get familiar with the city. Thank you for joining us and all the best for the rest of your trip.

Our Favorite Tour of Munich!

This was one of our favorite experiences during our trip to Munich. The food was delicious and we learned so much about the city. This was my first time on a private food tour and I loved the personalized feel and being able to ask tons of questions. Kevin was our guide and he was great!

Response from the operator: Fantastic! We wish you a wonderful rest of your stay in Germany. Liebe Grüße from the Fork & Walk Team

Tasting Bavaria: A Ramble through Munich’s Food and Beer Culture

Liam Hogan provided an awesome experience for us on our anniversary. The historical stories, food, and beer were perfect. We experienced plenty of variety of each. He also took us to some hideaway places that would never have found on our own.

Response from the operator: Thank you for joining us and we're very happy to hear you had an awesome experience with Liam. All the best for the rest of your stay in Germany!

Amazing and memorable experience

Had an amazing time on this food tour with Iain! From start to finish, the experience was incredible. Iain was super knowledgeable, not just about the food itself, but also the history and stories behind the places we visited. You could tell right away how passionate they are about local culture and cuisine, which made everything even more enjoyable. Every stop on the tour was unique, and the food was absolutely delicious. I loved learning about how different traditions and ingredients came together to shape the local dishes. I walked away full, happy, and having learned a ton. Honestly, it was worth every penny and 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting the area or just looking to experience something authentic and memorable!

Response from the operator: Fantastic to hear you had such an amazing time with Iain! Thank you very much for joining us and for the lovely review. All the best from the Fork & Walk Team!

Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings cost?

+

Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 39 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings?

+

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private - Viktualienmarkt Food Tour and Beyond - best Munich tastings start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

+

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
