Not worth the effort to get there

The cab ride is about 40-45 minutes. Definitely not worth the ride. The problem is that not a lot is known about the Vikings. We saw some well-preserved and maintained runestones. The tour is listed as 90 minutes, while the guide expects you to be there for two hours. But, he ran out of things to say after about 30 minutes. The scenery is nice. As he drove us around, he pointed out some small bumps on the hills and said there might be a Viking buried there. The guide was nice and knowledgeable, but there isn't enough to learn and/or see to make it worth the cost and effort.

Response from the operator: Hi, thanks for your feedback and thanks for taking your time to leave this review. Sadly there ain't a lot of remains left and no standing houses or preserved viking buildings to se; what we have are rune stones and grave fields like the bumps on the hills. Im also so sorry that you did get this impression out of the tour you booked as that isn't ok, and I need to speak with the guide in question cause it isn't an acceptable feeling from a guide I hire in locally due to me being sick to not being able to speak about the time period I hire him in to do. I usually advice to take a bus due to cab rides being expensive and we've a good bus system here but you're right that it is a bit out from stockholm city, due to not being any clear remaines to se inside Stockholm proper. Usually we do two or max three stops on this particular tour depending on time. Thanks for telling me about the tour time glitch, I'll check and make sure the tour time is properly decribed. I'm however happy you liked the scenery, places and the stones. /Owe

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Stockholm and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

On Outty we rank every Stockholm experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Stockholm: Walking Tour of the Old Town, Best of Stockholm: Small Group Walking Tour (Max 10, 3 Hours), Vasa Museum Guided Tour, Including Ticket & Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Stockholm?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Stockholm?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
