About this experience
Enjoy a private market tour and Italian cooking class with Laura is a true-blue Venetian. She was born and raised in Venice and lives in a beautiful apartment in the city center (only a 20-minute walk from the city center). The neighborhood is very local with not many tourists so you will get to experience a real Italian suburb. Laura loves to travel, watch movies, go to the market and of course, cook! She learned to cook traditional dishes from her mother and she likes to serve local dishes from Veneto. She only uses fresh and organic ingredients from the local farmers. Laura is also an expert in vegetarian food, as she was a vegetarian for 10 years (but not anymore!).

Local cooking and culture in Venice
This was an excellent local experience. Laura did a great job of preparing the meal, teaching us how to do it, and then serving the meal. It’s a very unique experience in Venice. I would recommend it highly.

Learning the secret of preparing great Risotto and the best Tiramisu
Laura is a wonderful person and opens her Italian home kitchen to her guests. She is very lovely and personable. Her apartment is small and accommodes 1-3 guests Her home is in the Dorsoduro district that is about a 30 minute walk from Venice central. You can take a water taxi. We walked. GPS amazingly guided us correctly and we felt safe walking late at night. The wine and quality of the products Laura uses is very good. We did not get to go to the market which was dissapointing. Her wine selection was good too. I recommend this experience

Local cooking with my family and Laura
What an incredible time with Laura. She blessed us by opening her home to myself, my wife and two small kids (8 and 10 year old). Her explanation and cooking was incredible. Dinner was absolutely outstanding. We’ve even blessed to meet her boyfriend and learn quite a bit about their journey in Venice.

The best experience in Venice!
Laura was warm, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely at home in her kitchen. Once in her cozy, beautiful apartment, we prepared a full Venetian meal from scratch with Laura’s expert guidance. From handmade pasta to rich sauces and local wine pairings, every moment was hands-on, engaging, and absolutely delicious. The views from her kitchen and dining space were stunning. We couldn’t stop taking photos! It felt like spending the afternoon with a friend who happens to be an amazing chef. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for something truly memorable and authentic, this is the experience to book. Thank you, Laura, for such a warm and unforgettable day!

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.
How much does Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.
Is Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 32 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Venice Cooking Class and Market Tour with Fun Local Laura start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Venice?
+
On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Venice?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Venice?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
