    Wonderful bike tour of Chianti

Incredible afternoon biking through the Chianti region. Allessio was our guide and he was so knowledgable about the region and the different points of interest along the way. We finished at a family vineyard and had wine and snacks under an olive grove surrounded by beautiful roses and lemon trees, while Allessio explained the process of making olive oil. A magical day!

    Adventurous fun!

My husband and I didn't have a lot of time in Florence but we really wanted to see and experience the Tuscan countryside and boy did this deliver. Our guide, Ben, met us in Florence and drove us 40 minutes into the country where we got on some bikes. Ben joined us on a bike for a while as well until the rain clouds started to surround us, at which point he hurried to the van and met us before it started pouring. He helped us to continue as long as we could, including trying the insanely hard hill but he showed no judgement when I couldn't make it and hopped in the van while my husband finished the hill. Then we got to go to a lovely Italian home where a family makes their own wine and olive oil and they fed us some amazing bread and cheese and meats and we got to taste their wine. It was magical and we could not recommend Ben and this company more. They went above and beyond!

Disappointed that our sunset bike tour was cancelled last minute

We never actually did this sunset bike tour (that I booked in February). A few days prior, I was contacted and told that the sunset tour was being cancelled as my husband and I were the only participants that evening. They relayed that they made the decision that day and offered to move me to a longer ride earlier in the day for an additional cost. Coincidentally I had looked at the sunset tour the week prior and thought it was very popular as all sunset rides for the entire season were “sold out”. When I inquired about this, they had no response. It is unfortunate that I only found out a few days before and the actual reason that there were no other participants was because the sunset tours were no longer being offered. I gave a few stars as my payment was quickly refunded. Ironically, I was able to book another tour last minute with an excellent company and this tour proceeded despite my husband and I being the only participants.

Response from the operator: Hi Taryn, We personally don't think that 5 days notice is "last minute". In fact, our cancellation gave you enough time to book a tour with a different company. We are surprised you would spread such false and inaccurate information. The tour you booked was available on our website but we did not have the minimum number of participants. In addition, when you booked the tour, you signed our Terms & Conditions and you were aware of the fact that we have the faculty to cancel a tour if the minimum number of participants is not matched. We fully refunded you and you had plenty of time to book another tour. We are surprised by your frustration and your review. Filippo & Alessio

If your brain is spinning from too many museum tours, get outside and take a fantastic bike ride around Chianti!

I can't say enough good things about this tour! We loved it! We were 2 adults and 3 teenagers. I am in decent (not amazing) shape and had no problems completing the ride. There is one killer hill at the end, but the van is there waiting, and 4/5 of us put our bikes in the van and took a very short ride to the top. It was seamless. The scenery is amazing and we were only in the sun for about 20 min. Jason was our guide and he was top-notch! He led us through the countryside and made sure, we were all safe, happy and he checked in often. My teens really enjoyed this bike ride as well. The bikes were all clean, serviced, and in good working order. This bike tour was definitely a highlight of our trip and I would not hesitate to book anything with Tuscany Bike Tours in the future! These guys were awesome and a special thank you to Jason for being a fantastic guide!

    Sunset tour

We had a great trip yesterday with Tuscany Bike tours. We were staying in Florence so the tour began with a drive up into the Tuscan countryside. Once we arrived at the castle we were given a tour around the facilities followed by a wine and olive oil tasting. After this we were ready to hit the road on our bikes. The equipment provided was really good and an explanation if the gears was given to anyone who hadn’t ridden in a while. The route is roughly 20km with the most amazing scenery all around you! There is one large hill on the route but Alessio takes it slow and everyone can go at their own pace. Finally after a short drive we were given an outstanding dinner at a local restaurant. Definitely a great way to see this beautiful part of Tuscany!

Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $177 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tuscany Sunset Bike Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
