About this experience
This is not your typical Italian cooking class. This is a chance to immerse yourself in a private cooking class with a delightful man passionate about regional Italian cuisine and share an authentic meal with a couple that has been married for 30 years and are still crazy in love! Fabio lives on a hill in the countryside surrounded by olive trees. Fabio and Christiane (when she is home) welcome you into their colorful home with a refreshing drink. Fabio will explain how they pick olives and how olive oil is made. Next, join Fabio in his kitchen for a 2.5 hour hands-on cooking class. Learn to make fresh pasta, sauce, a main and dessert. Depending on the season, you might help Fabio make tagliatelle con ragù or squid risotto with wild fennel and orange peel, and cod with leeks and purple cabbage or pork chop with almonds. For dessert, enjoy castagnaccio, chestnut flour cake, a regional favorite or panna cotta with strawberry coulis in the summer over a pot of freshly brewed coffee.

Country Cooking
Fabio, his wife and family friend were the kind and welcoming people I have ever met. This was our third trip to Italy and cooking with Fabio was the best experience we have ever had. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Plus the food was delicious.

The best experience I had in Italy!
My family and I shared lots of experiences during our 10 days in Italy. We went to Venice, Rome, Florence, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. I can tell you without hesitation that this was my favorite event! We felt incredibly welcomed by both Fabio and Christianne, who is an absolute riot, and made the evening even more special. Fabio took into consideration my request for no fish. First we shopped together for the ingredients. I've not been inside an Italian grocery store before, so that was pretty fantastic before the cooking even started. He made sure each member (5) of our family had a task to do whether it was kneading the dough for pasta, cutting up apples, or making the pasta itself. We sat at the table together and chatted for hours! I didn't want to leave. If we are lucky enough to go back to Italy, I would for sure book this experience again, and only with Fabio and Christianne.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re absolutely delighted to hear that your experience with Fabio and Christianne was the favorite part of your 10 days in Italy. It’s wonderful to know that the whole family was able to take part in the cooking, from shopping for ingredients to making fresh pasta and preparing dessert. We’re also glad that Fabio was able to accommodate your dietary preference and make the experience enjoyable for everyone. It sounds like the laughter, conversation, and time spent around the table made the evening truly special. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Fabio and Christianne. We would love to welcome you back to Italy someday, and hopefully back to their table! ❤️

A memory made!
Fabio and his wife were very fun! We had a great time going to the markets and making true Italian meals. We had some local wine which was also very special. Fabio is an excellent chef! We enjoyed their home in the hills of Tuscany away from the city. I highly recommend spending your day with them!!

Amazing experience
An unforgettable experience! Fabio and Christiane are fabulous hosts, their home a quiet villa hidden amongst olive trees in the countryside. Fabio contacted us ahead of time to create a menu that suits any dietary needs/restrictions. Fabio helped us create pasta from scratch and turn local farm fresh ingredients into the most amazing meal, which was shared in their peaceful backyard amongst the beautiful natural backdrop. Our evening with Fabio and Christiane is a wonderful family memory…my boys were talking about recreating the recipe before we even made it home!
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had such a memorable time with Fabio and Christiane. From crafting a personalized menu to making fresh pasta with local ingredients, it sounds like you experienced the warmth, hospitality, and authentic flavors that make their home so special. We especially love that your boys were already excited to recreate the recipes before you even got home. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome your family back for another unforgettable culinary adventure in the future!

Do not miss this! We had the best evening with Fabio and Christiane
When we were planning our trip to Italy, I knew I wanted to get an experience learning how to cook. Our travel agent told us about the opportunity to go to Fabio’s and Christiane‘s home to take a private cooking class. We were not going to pass that up. We wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who would like to have a fun evening getting away from tourist crowds, spending some time in the countryside outside of Florence, learning to cook, having some wine, meeting some wonderful people, and enjoying some fantastic Italian hospitality. After we booked this, Fabio and I emailed back-and-forth about the menu for our evening. He let me pick what we wanted to make. When the day came, he picked us up in Florence in his car, drove us to his home, where we met Christiane and her niece Marilena, and we got ready to cook. All of the ingredients were measured out and ready for us to cook. We had decided on a menu of tagliatelle with Tuscan meat sauce, peposo, and Fabio’s apple cake. But, first, local wine and meats/cheeses outside while we chatted and got to know each other. Then, we cooked. We had such fun learning from Fabio and trying our hand at making homemade Italian dishes. And, we may have had more wine while we cooked. Christiane was serving, and we weren’t going to say no. Afterward, we all sat down at their dining room table and ate what we had cooked. I can’t fully describe how wonderful it was to spend an evening at their table, in their home, talking about life, Italy, America, and our shared love of good food and wine. Our evening with Fabio and Christiane was an absolute highlight of our time in Florence. I have no doubt that if we get back to Florence in the near future, we’ll spend another evening with them. I recommend this to anyone who wants a fantastic evening while in Florence.

PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.
How much does PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home cost?
+
Prices start at $149 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.
Is PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 78 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home?
+
Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does PRIVATE Tuscan Cooking Class in Fabio's Florence Countryside Home start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Florence?
+
On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Florence?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Florence?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
