The Drivers were talking bad about us in Italian while we were standing right there!

Beware of the employees, particularly the drivers for this company. Tuscany Private Tour was contracted by our Italian tour company to take us on a Truffle Hunt in Mid June 2026. Our drivers were Leonardo and Kiara. We were traveling with a 3 year old and a 6 month old in our group. Of course one of the little ones was on a knap when we were supposed to go. Keep in mind, this trip was prepaid. Admittedly, we were an hour late. What the drivers didnt know was that we had an Italian women in our group. Over the course of the next several hours, our drivers did nothing but talk really bad about us in Italian thinking we didnt understand. Our Italiana bit her tongue for as long as she could. She then, in Italian, announced that she heard and everything the drivers had to say. As you would expect, the drivers were horrified. After that they were all apologies and kind. Too late, the damage was done. So in the end, beware, as these two are capable of talking bad about you WHILE you are standing right in front of them! It is for this reason, I would strongly recommend that you stray away from this company. We spent a considerable amount of money on the trip of a lifetime, a trip where we put our trust in someone else's ability to properly guide us through our dream trip. It is unacceptable that the people we trust betray us and to put icing on the cake, they did it boldly right in front of us! Do your homework travelers, this was very disappointing for us.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, We are sincerely sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations and that you were disappointed with your experience. Our driver-guides are experienced professionals who are consistently praised for their courtesy, professionalism, and dedication to our guests. For this reason, we take your comments seriously. We regret that you left with a negative impression despite our team's efforts throughout the day. Customer satisfaction remains our priority, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

    We loved it!

This was such a wonderful experience! Our guide was super awesome and friendly. The dogs were cute and we found a good chunk of truffles. Afterwards we enjoyed some of the truffles with a meal and wine with great views of the countryside. This is a 10/10 experience that’s become the highlight of our trip.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review! We're thrilled to hear that our attentive service and authentic experiences have resonated with our guests. Your satisfaction means the world to us. We can't wait to welcome you back soon in beautiful Tuscany!

Adventure, delicious, fun, all in one!

My husband and I had an amazing experience from pickup to finish! Our drive was stunning first off, and a very comfortable drive at that. The hunt was quite an adventure, with the truffle dog Be Be, who was so lovable too. We found probably 6, maybe more truffles. It was so interesting, digging them up and having our dog let us know if it was a truffle. She is so smart! Then the lunch at a winery after with wines to pair and learn about while there too. All truly amazing, very memorable and totally worth it!!! Will likely be our favorite experience in Tuscany!!!!

Response from the operator: Buongiorno and thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so happy to create amazing memories! Hope we will see you soon again in Tuscany!

Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence cost?

    +

Prices start at $207 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Truffle Hunting in Chianti from Florence start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
