"Two sightseeing stops" was a joke. Save your money and your time.

Save your money and your time - "Two sightseeing stops" was an absolute joke. We chose our two stops in advance and were told we'd have to pay extra for he 2nd stop, ok no problem - we agreed. That morning our driver arrived angry that he'd been assigned a tour that would make him drive through the countryside. Got to listen to hours of his complaints. We finally arrived at our first chosen stop to be told we couldn't get in because we hadn't purchased advanced tickets. No one EVER told us we'd have to purchase our tickets in advance! Dissappointed, we pressed on to our second stop (the Tihanyi Abbey) to learn they were closed for the day. By then both we and our driver were frustrated and tired. Our driver contacted the tour company to tell them what was happening. I then received a call from them basically telling me "sorry, you should have researched your stops in advance - not our problem." I was then told "your driver is very nice, he'll work something out with you." Really?? So the driver who's already feeling really put out by the entire thing is now supposed to compensate us in some way? Had we just booked a simple transfer, it would have been hundreds of dollars cheaper and 2 hours shorter. This whole thing was a total waste of time and money. First truly bad experience I've ever had booking through Viator and I've booked dozens of successful trips in the past.

Response from the operator: Dear Leah, thank you for your feedback regarding your recent tour. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify a few points. Our driver, who is one of our best, did his utmost to provide an excellent service. He did not complain or argue during the trip. In fact, he went above and beyond by offering 2 additional hours of stops to compensate for the issues that arose. Regarding the advance purchase of tickets, we do inform all our clients in the welcome message about the necessity to book tickets in advance for certain attractions. We regret that this information may have been overlooked and understand your frustration upon discovering this on the day of the tour. When you arrived at the first stop and found out that tickets were required, our driver immediately contacted our office. We tried to find a solution for you in real-time, but unfortunately, due to the circumstances, we were unable to secure entry. For your second stop at Tihanyi Abbey, the unexpected closure was beyond our control, and we deeply regret any inconvenience caused. We believe that our team did its best in the challenging situation and we will gladly welcome you as a guest next time. Have a nice day.

Would book again with this driver

Our driver was a good driver. We never felt unsafe. He was prompt and got us to our destination on time. He was chatty enough to make the long drive go quickly. I would book again with this driver.

Response from the operator: Hello, Linda! Thank you for such nice comments. We are happy to know you felt safe and comfortable during the transfer, especially with your driver. We look forward to assisting you again.

    Nice and easy!

The morning started with Thomas our driver arriving promptly at our hotel. He loaded up our bags and he quickly got us out of the traffic in Zagreb and onto the expressway. He was very knowledgeable of Croatia in general - there wasn’t a question we asked that he didn’t have an answer for. Really great guy! We stopped in the city of Varazdin. Unfortunatly, we didn’t stay long because of the rainy weather but we did have enough time to snap a few pictures, grab a lunch and had a coffee. We arrived in Budapest, where Thomas dropped us off at the front of our hotel. Overall this was a great experience and would highly recommend this to anyone. Since we didn’t rent a car while we were in Croatia, this gave us a means to travel and a nice scenic tour.

Response from the operator: Hi, Eric! We appreciate your comments. We are glad you had a great time during our service and that you enjoyed the time with Thomas. It was our pleasure to assist you. Thank you for your trust. We look forward to seeing you soon again.

    Great Service

We had scheduled a private transfer from Zagreb to Budapest with 2 sightseeing stops. Our driver was at our Zagreb location on time, very courteous and friendly. He and my husband talked for much of the drive. We stopped at a village in Croatia and toured a castle and walked around the village and had a delicious lunch. We then continued on our journey to Budapest. The driver gave us the option of touring a castle in Budapest but we would get in to Budapest very late so we decided not to stop and we arrived in Budapest around 7pm after being picked up in Zagreb at 11:00am. We were very pleased with the car and driver and the overall ride. We were originally dreading the trip between the 2 cities because the only way of getting there by air was a 9 hour connecting flight. We were thrilled when our travel agent suggested the private driver!

Response from the operator: Hello, thank you for leaving us such a wonderful review. We are thrilled that you loved your experience; our staff will definitely be happy to read what you wrote. We put customer experience and satisfaction as our priority, and your review reaffirms the hard work we put in every day. Thank you very much. We look forward to seeing you again! How much does Private Transfer from Zagreb to Budapest with 2 hours for sightseeing cost?

    +

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". How far in advance should I book Private Transfer from Zagreb to Budapest with 2 hours for sightseeing?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Transfer from Zagreb to Budapest with 2 hours for sightseeing start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zagreb within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zagreb?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zagreb?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zagreb?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
