Was almost great
I booked this transfer as a door to door drop off and pick up. The company started out as fantastic with , great communication. Our driver Andrew was wonderful and gave us options to make breaks and allow more time when we were running behind. The lower rating and the off communication came at drop off time. Florence is at times a closed city. I, as a traveler who is depending on a paid transfer, was not aware. As we got closer our driver let us know he would drop off as close as possible. It would be a 45 minute walk with our suitcases. I called the company to ask what our options were and was told there was nothing they could do, and they can’t break the law. They didn’t have the proper permit to go to town and didn’t even attempt to pay for one to complete the paid for ride. Our driver helped us find a cab and we still had to pay for the taxi. Never received an apology from the company or offer to reimburse for the cab. Our driver did reach out to us. I
Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback. We’re happy to hear you appreciated our communication and that your driver Andrew was helpful and flexible throughout the journey. We’d like to clarify the situation regarding the drop-off in Florence. Many European cities, including Florence, have strict ZTL (Limited Traffic Zone) regulations that prohibit entry to non-local vehicles unless they have a specific, pre-approved permit. These rules are enforced by local governments and supported by EU environmental initiatives, with the goal of protecting historic city centers, reducing traffic, and improving air quality. During high season, our drivers operate across large regions, and it is unfortunately not feasible for each of them to hold permanent access permits for 30+ cities across Europe. In most cases, these permits are limited to residents or locally registered companies, which makes it nearly impossible for roaming drivers to obtain them. Your driver brought you as close as legally possible and assisted you with arranging a taxi for the remaining short distance. We understand this may have been inconvenient, and we apologize for the disruption. However, we believe that our team and the driver handled the situation responsibly and in full compliance with local law. We truly appreciate your understanding and wish you all the best in your future travels. Kind regards, Jan

DO NOT DO THIS SERVICE -- Would give negative stars if could
This was a HORRIBLE experience. Do not do it. It is advertised as supposedly more convenient than the train but it was the exact opposite. We had to take a water taxi to meet car, then the car was NOT luxurious -- we are a family of 4 and we were in a station wagon with the three of us in back seat closely together. He took us to Bologna, and let us out at city center and sent us on our way with no instruction/recommendation. The car ride from Bologna to Florence was then 5 HOURS in the very cramped car. We so regret not only wasting our money on this but also an entire day of our vacation.
Response from the operator: Dear Julia, We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment, but we would like to clarify that there was no error on our part — the service was delivered exactly as booked and confirmed. The travel agent booked the transfer for 4 people, which is why an MPV (such as VW Sharan, Ford Galaxy or Renault Espace) was assigned. These vehicles have three separate full-size seats in the back row and offer far more space than a regular sedan. No information was provided about passenger height, luggage, or special needs. If a larger van had been preferred, it could have been selected at booking for a 10–20% higher rate. In Bologna, the driver dropped the group approximately 30 meters from the old town entrance, right at the city gate and staircase. This was the closest legal drop-off point, as access to historic centers is heavily restricted — even for local residents. We have photo and GPS documentation confirming this. The driver also shared personal tips on what to see and where to eat, and at the end of the trip in Venice, he helped with luggage and arranged a water taxi — going well beyond what is expected from a standard transfer. If there was a mismatch between expectations and the service booked, this should be addressed with the travel agent who managed the reservation. From our side, everything was delivered professionally and correctly. Kind regards, The Europe Journey Team

Comfortable Experience
This is an excellent service to see the country in comfort. We were fortunate to have the same driver from Milan to Venice and from Venice to Florence.
Response from the operator: Hi, Robyn! Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s wonderful to hear that you had Dejan for both legs of your journey, adding familiarity and consistency to your travels. Exploring the beautiful Italian countryside in comfort truly enhances the experience, and having a reliable driver makes it even better. We're thrilled you enjoyed the service!

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.
How much does Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing cost?
+
Prices start at $185 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.
Is Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Transfer from Venice to Florence, 2h of sightseeing start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Venice?
+
On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Venice?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Venice?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
