About this experience
Discover the hidden charms of Asakusa! In this tour, Japanese female guides will show you around Asakusa in kimono. With their broken English and warm smiles, you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere as if you were taking a walk with friends. The slightly awkward English will allow you to experience the joy of the moment when words are understood and the fun of exchanges that will make you laugh and smile. Our tours take you not only to the standard tourist attractions but also to the hidden gems and local stores loved by the locals in order to give you a sense of the real Asakusa. For example, we will visit small izakaya (Japanese-style pubs) in back alleys, coffee shops in old buildings with a sense of history, shopping streets full of old-fashioned humanity, and other places where you can feel “everyday life in Asakusa” that are not listed in tourist guides.

Excellent tours in Asakusa!!
I met Misa twice for tours in Asakusa. If you are looking for a guide who knows Asakusa like the back of her hand, Misato is an excellent choice. I had such a great time with her and the things she showed me were really great on both tours. I highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in exploring Asakusa! I think that I have only brushed the surface of what Misa is able to show me in Asakusa and I will definitely make sure to book a tour with her next time I am in Tokyo!! みさちゃん、ありがとうございました!

Finally I met Misa san !
I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Misa-san. From start to finish, the day was smooth, enjoyable, and filled with memorable moments. Time truly flew by because every part of the trip was so delightful. Misa-san guided me through Kawagoe with warmth and kindness. She took me to a traditional senbei shop, a theater performance, and even a ramen restaurant that was incredibly delicious. Each stop felt carefully chosen and added something special to the day. She also surprised me with a lovely pair of chopsticks, which made the experience feel even more personal and thoughtful. I was genuinely touched by her generosity. Not only is Misa-san knowledgeable and attentive, but she also creates a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. I hope to join her again in the future. If you’re considering a trip with her, I highly recommend it you’ll have a wonderful time.

Kawagoe, a charming day trip to Little Edo
I booked a few hours with Misa-chan for a private tour of Kawagoe, about 30-45 minutes from Tokyo. I enjoyed visiting local shrines, architecture on Kurazukuri Street, and trying eel at a famed restaurant. Misa’s attentiveness provided in-depth knowledge and time saving for a positive vibe. —Gordon, visiting Tokyo for 10 days from the US

Absolutely the best!
I cannot recommend a tour more from these lovely ladies! They are very knowledgeable, kind and make sure that their tours are worth it!

Nice experience but can be improved.
The Asakusa night tour was really nice, and Misa-chan was knowledgeable about the places we visited. She shared interesting details and was very polite and friendly, which made the experience pleasant. However, I was a bit disappointed that she was quite distracted with her phone. She took two calls—one at the start and another during dinner. While she did ask politely before answering, it was still disruptive and not what I expected from a guided tour. Another issue was her English, which made it difficult to fully understand some explanations. For a tour meant for foreigners, better communication would have made a big difference. That said, she clearly knows a lot about the area and has potential to be a great guide if she focuses more on the guests and improves her English.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.
How much does Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $64000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.
Is Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour With Local Japanese Female Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tokyo?
+
Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tokyo?
+
Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tokyo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
