An amazing tour with much sightseeing packed into a long day tour

Full day private tour to the Maeklong Train Market, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market including a long tailed boat ride, the Jeath museum, cemetery and the Bridge over the River Kwai at Kanchanaburi (note: the access to the bridge is on foot. If it is important to you, this tour does not include the train ride along the cliffside through the Wampo Viaduct). This was our first tour with Amazing Asia Tours and I must commend them on putting together such an interesting itinerary with many stops along the way and for taking us to a wonderful guesthouse in Kanchanaburi for lunch. This was the first time ever on tour where a tour guide said that we could order what we want from an a la carte menu (you just pay for your drinks, including some of the best Lassis I've ever tasted). We had an amazing amount of Thai dishes laid out on our table including dessert. The tour guide (Kannika?) was very nice and kind. She even bought us several bags of fruit from the traders at the train market. I would certainly look this company up again for touring when we are next in Thailand. Thank you for a great day. I did this same kind of tour in 1976 and again in 1994, but you made the trip truly unique.

Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your review we love getting feedback about our service and take pride in our customer service. Please get in touch if there is anything else we can do to make your day.

    Great tour!

Enjoyed the trip, very informative and our tour guide was really good and helpful (always making sure we had drinks and snacks and stopping at a services whenever needed). The only negative is it’s a long time in the car which can’t be helped given the distance but something to consider - it’s a long day! For that reason we think it was definitely worth doing the private tour so you can do things at your own pace.

Response from the operator: "Thank you so much for this review. We really appreciate you being a customer. We’re here for you anytime.”

The bridge over the river Kwai

An interesting and varied day exploring a floating market , a lunch stop on the banks of the river Kwai and then a final stop at the war museum and bridge on the river Kwai Our guide gave us some interesting facts about the market and how it had changed and also the history of the death railway.

Response from the operator: "Thank you so much for this 5-star review. We really appreciate you being a customer and helping to share the word about us. We’re here for you anytime.”

Bridge over the river Kwai tour

Its a great day out but just know it is a very long day - Mira the guide was lovely, very knowledgeable and helpful. The floating market was very quiet but should get busier after covid - we went on the train over one of the most difficult bits of the railway- the view on the curve is brilliant- Sam the driver was great too.

    Best day of touring Thailand!

Guitar was such a wonderful guide. My wife and I are a lesbian couple and felt very comfortable and welcomed by this guide. One of our favorite elements was his generosity in sharing connection with his family we ran in to along the tour. It was such a treat to feel such a welcoming. Also, he has such a great personality and joyful spirit!

Response from the operator: Dear Ava, What a wonderfull review with regards to Guitar. I will make sure he sees this. Kind regards, Kris

Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.

How much does Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai cost?

    +

Prices start at $3338 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.

Is Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour to the Floating Market and Bridge over River Kwai start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bangkok?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bangkok?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
