Cape Town with Leon
We did not realize that our ticket to Robben Island was not guaranteed at a definite time. Therefore, when we could only be admitted at 11:00 which would not leave us enough time for the rest, we chose to skip Robben Island. Leon, our guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about South African history and culture. He made our excursion well worth the money. I would suggest in the future that you pre-purchase the ticket for admission to Robben Island or inform your clients of the possibility of choose between that activity and the others.

Dishonest Tour Company. Customer Beware!
This tour company is incredibly dishonest. My family of four booked a Robben Island and Cape Point tour with them. They did not respond to inquiries until 830 pm, the evening before the tour. Once we met and arrived at the boat terminal to begin the tour, we found out the boats have had issues for the last 3 days and the tours have been cancelled for the week. Robben Island is the primary purpose for the tour and is slotted to last 4 of the 8 hours. The company offered to refund $90 USD of the $453 paid and provide the other 4 hours of the tour for $363 USD. That is absurd and who would accept this. Of course we declined and the driver left me and my family at the pier office to find our way from there and told us to contact Viator for a refund, which we did. A partial refund of $200 USD of the $453 USD was given and the tour company had the nerve to say it was due to fuel and washing the car. They were literally with us at the pier office, before leaving us stranded there, for 15 minutes and think it is ok to keep $253 USD as a result. They are a dishonest company and PLEASE take your business elsewhere.

Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town cost?
+
Prices start at $2240 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour to Robben Island and Cape Point in Cape Town start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins Day Tour from Cape Town, Table Mountain, Boulders Penguins and Cape point Day Tour, Wine Tour: Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch incl 3 wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
